Keval looked over his program one more time, made sure the power distribution system was being monitored as well as the ships’s environmental systems, shrugged, and pressed the button to activate the program.

“Time to end this heatwave,” Keval said to himself, checking to make sure the program would actually run so that he could provide an update.

And run it did! The temperature started to cool in certain locations throughout the ship. It would take time to dissipate through the whole mess of plants but already they were starting to move more sluggishly, and turning back in towards the cargo bay in an effort to preserve “body heat”.

=/\= Davis to Vras. Representatives of the hostile race will arrive at your position imminently. What’s your status? =/\=

Davis, CO (crosspost)

Keval pulled out his phaser again, looking around Engineering before turning back to his screen. =^= The ship is beginning to cool, except for Sickbay and Cargo Bay 3. It will take time for the ship to cool down completely. I could increase power to the environmental systems, which might speed up the process, but I can’t predict what will happen given the compromised power distribution system =^=

Keval looked around again. =^= Any idea when our plant friends are going to get here. I doubt they will be happy to see what I’m doing. =^=

-Lt. Keval Vras, CE

=/\= Increase the power as much as you feel comfortable, Lieutenant. I’ll be back to you with a time estimate… =/\=

Davis, CO (crosspost)

“As much as I feel comfortable?” Keval said aloud to himself. He had studied up on the specs before arriving on this away mission - these weren’t Starfleet systems, but he thought he had an idea of what they could handle. He started to increase power to the environmental system from one-third of the ship’s generators. Based on his understanding of the systems, Keval believed he had increased the chances of damaging any one of those power generators by 15%. He had also increased the risk of blowing out a power distribution node, but given the compromise from the invasive plants, he could not predict the risk, but felt it was about the same as the generators. Keval started paying more attention to the ship’s power systems.

A few moments later a different voice chirped in: =/\= Inbound in T- minus five minutes and counting, sir.=/\=

=^= It’s just me here, Challenger. I’ll lockout the systems and try to escape. I’m not sure if I can hold Engineering on my own.=^=

Keval set up an encryption on the ship’s environmental systems. He wasn’t sure what the aliens’ capabilities were, but he hoped it was enough. He then used his remaining time to use his tricorder to scan for the coldest areas near and around Engineering, and to look for cover.

About five minutes later, sure enough the two sent to deal with Vras dropped from the roof and began sniffing around, looking for the CE

GM Wombat

OOC: Bad timing on my part with posting my reply. Was my character able to find an escape route from Engineering, or is he stuck? My character’s response will definitely differ depending on whether he can escape or not.

-Lt. Keval Vras, CE
