“Of course,” Max said as he walked over towards Lillian and Nijix. He carefully removed their phasers, and the phaser rifles. And took them towards where she had indicated.

Lillian was a bit annoyed at being relieved of her weapons but could understand why the creature had ask for it to be done.

=^= Captain. I have made contact with their leader. She is sending someone to investigate why it is getting cold in here. =^=

Cmdr. Harkness - XO

=/\= Acknowledged. Davis out. =/\=

Davis, CO (crosspost)

Lillian was starting to feel better now that the vines where lest tight. It was annoying that she was under treat of here head being crushed.
“Thank you” Lillian looked to the plants people leader.
“Sir where would you like me to start looking for the information about where those people are from?” Lillian was asking in hopes that there would be a way for the XO to help her understand the larger situation with out giving anything away to the Plant people in the room.
Lillian was sure from the conversation between the XO and the captain about the weather was a way of warring anyone that may have been working on the environmental controls to get out of the area but she gave no indirection she suspected anything. other than be happy to be up the right way again.

Nijix hated the lightheadedness. The blood continued to flow to her head and left a queasy sensation in her stomach. Somehow she managed to keep her meal down, but couldn’t logic out how. For the best likely. As the XO and their captor spoke, the CoS patiently observed. Negotiations were difficult when the hostages irritated the hostile. Her anxiety relaxed when their ‘transformation’ had been delayed.

Her eyes shifted to Anderson when she mentioned about location. Nijix suspected a hidden code, but she made no comment. Sometimes it was better to allow Cadets to follow their own instinct for better or worse.

-Lt. Nijix Tavium, CoS

“You… aren’t very subtle, you know that yes?” Sammi told Harkness with narrowed and suspicious eyes. With a wave of her hand Tavium and Anderson dropped unceremoniously to the floor. “Now that that is done, and knowing full well that I will kill you all without a thought, lets discuss terms. You get your engineer to stop messing with the thermostat, take your precious holdouts in the sickbay, and I take this ship as my floating greenhouse until we find a suitable planet to colonize.”

She peered at the door, waiting for her minions to return then back to Harkness, Tavium, and Anderson waiting to hear the counter proposal.

Max shrugged, “Being subtle has never been one of my strong points. When they train you to fly, they train you to react fast, and not to second guess your decisions. Because when you are in the pilots seat, and someone starts shooting you, you don’t always have time to think about the situation before reacting.

“But I can still negotiate on behalf of our Captain. As you have already guessed, our engineer has stopped, but we can have him reverse what he has already done. He can probably actually tweak the settings to be even more to your liking before we take the last of the Potterfield crew off of the ship. But, I know they will never let you go off on your own to colonize a planet. But what if we helped you find a suitable planet? We have a large database of planets in this sector, we would just need to know what you are looking for. And we will even escort you to the planet, hopefully reducing the chance of anything else going wrong. Is that agreeable?”

Cmdr. Harkness - XO

Lillian was shocked that the XO told the Plant thing that they had been doing in engineering. It was a good way to get trust but also could be a bad thing if they where hopping to use that again later.
Lillian decided to say nothing as the XO Tried to arrange for the plant things to go to a new world but lillian wanted to know what would happen to the people they had infected and taken over as they to have the right to live.

Lillian looked at The CoS as they stood up and waited for orders

“Something Jungular. Preferably as isolated as possible from your… Federation. We want nothing to do with those that would harvest us against our will.” She narrowed her eyes back at Lillian then back to the XO.

Nijix felt the vines lose then let go. Her hands went to protect her head as she folded her chin into her chest. A heavy thump revealed a balled-up CoS who shook off the effect and gradually rose to her feet. After a full check over, she appeared satisfied there were no additional injuries.

Her head tilted to listen to the conversation between the XO and Sammi. She revealed nothing on her expression as she felt the Cadet look at her, her eyes turned to meet Lillian’s. They appeared to flood with confidence and trust in their XO.

When Nijix spotted Sammi narrowed her eyes at Lillian, the CoS’ protective nature stirred. Against better judgment, she casually stepped next to Lillian’s side.

“You all right?” She asked quietly. An innocent question that opened up a possibility for answers. Including for the Cadet to voice her question and concerns underneath the surface.

-Lt. Nijix Tavium, CoS

Lillian was replied to the CoS
“I am fine sir”
Lillian continued “what will happen the the crew that have been taken over?” Lillian decided to be bold and ask the XO and the plant human.
Lillian was not sure what to do now as she had and hoped she has not created more problems with her lack of diplomacy.

Max looked over at Lillian, they were making headway, but it was a valid question.

“We can definitely find you something jungular, and out of the way. We will even put a satellite in orbit warning off other people, that it is a protected planet. But our Cadet has a fair question. What will happen to the crew of this ship after we get you to your new homeworld? Will they be returned to us?”

Cmdr. Harkness - XO

Nijix looked at Lillian, acknowledging her question as a good. Her eyes snapped over to Sammi and expected an answer. She kept her hands where they belonged so not to show aggression or hostility. They were still bargaining chips in this dangerous game. Her mind pushed another lifetime’s memories. She inhaled then let her mind settle down while waiting for the answer alongside the others.

-Lt. Nijix Tavium, CoS

Sammi considered this a moment before offering a note of information. “This higher function is still new to us, we are learning, however from what we know about life on our home world, once infested the creature remains infested. Our tendrils work their way into your nervous system. Your immune system fights back but eventually higher function ceases. I believe Jetsam used the term meat puppet before he lost control. I suppose the memories are still there, locked away, but the mind of the host has no more control over their body.”

She shrugged and turned away, “You could leave them with me where they will be loved and cared for, or you can take them where they will be dissected and studied. I leave that burden on you, but I think you know my preference.”
