Cadet Flores walks into the sickbay confident to meet his department head and excited

OOC: Welcome aboard, Dominick! This is a good start. There are just two small things you’d want to keep in mind. The first is that we always use past tense when writing in character (IC). And the second one is to always sign your post by adding your characters rank, name and department. You can see how I do it at the end of my post. We do this to make it easier in threads with multiple people in particular to identify who posted what.

IC:
As the doors swished open, the tall, blond Trill who was working at a near by console looked up. Seeing the cadet she walked quickly towards him and said with a warm smile, “You must be one of the new cadets. Welcome aboard! I’m Ensign Yaba Priel, one of the medical technicians on the Challenger.” Looking at the blue of his uniform, she added, “Are you with the medical or the science department?”

As David walks in and sees ensign priel walk up to him he listens to what they have to say after priel ask him if he’s with medical or science department he says “I’m with medical department” he says with a enthusiastic tone
Cadet Flores-doctor

“Welcome to the medical department, Cadet!” NE Priel replied with a broad smile. “While you’ll have to undertake the medical evaluation, I know that Lieutenant Tija prefers to talk to the cadets in her department first. I’ll bring you to her office.” Without waiting for a reply, the Trill lead the way towards the office. Once they were there, she said, “Just press the chime and wait to be called inside.” She then turned around again and with a glance over her shoulder added, “See you later!”

Flores looked at the panel and pressed the door chime and waited for a reply

Cadet Flores - doctor

At the sound of the chime, Lieutenant Tija looked up from the PaDD she was studying and said, “Enter.” As the doors swished open in front of Cadet Schweitzer, he would find himself in a smallish office that appeared to be very standard. Most of the wall opposite the door was taken up by windows. Against the left hand wall stood a comfortable looking couch with an oval-shaped glass coffee table in front of it and two matching overstuffed armchairs on each side. Slightly to the right of the door stood a desk at angle, facing mostly towards the door. Behind the desk was small bookshelf filled with books and a few ornaments. In front of the desk stood two identical chairs, facing the desk. Tija was sitting behind the desk, one PaDD right in front of her and several more stacked neatly to her right. Her copper hair was tied back into a neat bun at the nape of her neck, leaving not only her earring, but also the scar that ran down the right side of her face from her temple to her ear, clearly visible. Her face was covered in a number of pale brown, almost golden looking freckles and a small smile played across her lips and around her jade coloured eyes.

Rising to her feet, Tija Aizala gestured towards the chairs and said, “Welcome aboard, Cadet. You must be David Flores. Please have a seat.” Walking the three steps towards the replicator she continued, “Would you like something to eat or to drink?”

David looks at tija and says “no thank you doctor” and straightens up his posture he then says to in a bit of. nervous tone “ cadet David Flores reporting for duty doctor” still with a straight posture he doesn’t show laziness but what is expected of a Starfleet officer

Tija gave a simple nod and then sat down behind her desk again. For a moment she simply looked at Flores before asking, “Tell me Cadet Flores, what made you decide to become a doctor and why did you join Starfleet?”

Flores looked at her and said “ well I always new I wanted to join Starfleet cause my family was in Starfleet and I wanted to continue the tradition and I always wanted to be a doctor since my mom died that’s when I realized I wanted to help others and seek new species to diagnose and the unknown” he looked at the doctor and looked down at the floors for a moment and he looked back up.

“I see,” Tija replied simply at first. But after a few moments of silence, she added, “I know what it’s like to lose a loved one and going into medicine at least partly because of that.” She gave him a small smile and then continued, “Have you specialised in a certain field in? If yes, what have you specialised in? If not is there a certain field you would like to specialise in?”

Flores looked up at her and said “ I’m a general practitioner” he said this with a very confident tone he looked at the doctor and he asked her “ what medical field are you in if u don’t mind me asking?” as he said in a nervous tone.

Tiija picked up the cadet’s nervousness and thus said with her best bedside manner, “At ease, Cadet. I encourage questions. Especially those that have to do with medicine or being a Starfleet officer. I’m on this ship not only as a doctor, but also as a teacher. And answering questions is a large part of that job. So to answer yours: I specialised in trauma surgery and emergency medicine. And through my previous training on Bajor and then taking additional classes at the Academy I also have extensive knowledge in what is often called alternative medicine.”

He looked at the doctor and said “ what is next on my to do list i know I’m supposed to get get my physical next which is here After I’ve done all my check ups do I report back to u”he said and a confused tone.
