As the crew sat right back they lived tale of a fateful trip. The weather started getting rough, The roundabout was tossed. If not for the courage of NE Flysalot, The ship would’ve been lost.If possible, Lieutenant Tija was even paler than she had been when she’d finally - if rather reluctantly - boarded the runabout. She knew that she was giving anything but a good example for the cadets on this away mission, yet there was only so much should could do about an acute panic attack. And the rough flight certainly hadn’t helped to settle her nerves.
When the roundabout touched down and the crew disembarked they were struck with how cold and ultimately desolate the place was. Few land markers indicated they were even at the station, but there were three bunker doors, one to the north which was likely the shaft head. One to the west that was likely the “panic room” and then one attached to a slightly raised ring which was likely the hab.
Once almost everyone had left the runabout, Tija moved her legs so that her feet rested on her seat as well and wrapped her arms around her legs, her forehead resting on her knees. Her lips moved in a silent prayer. Though unaware of it herself, if anyone was watching her, they would notice that she was rocking slightly forwards and backwards. She would follow the rest of the away team shortly, but she needed a moment or two to collect herself first.
On top of the shaft building sat a large communication array and other sensors and antennas.

Douglas stared at the comm array for a moment before saying, rather loudly to make sure everyone can hear. “I’ll try and get us communications!, I’d recommend we use the structural integrity device on that array” Pointing at it, whilst shivering. “just in case things get worse. Sound alright?” Douglas knew this could turn south, but tried to stay composed as much as he could.

Rainns stepped out of the runabout, and quickly began to shiver. He took in the scene of mining station, he found his vision drawn to the array that rose above the rest of the complex. “You’ll need someone to go with you,” he responded to Douglas’ suggestion. He walked back to the Runabout and and stood by crate of Phaser rifles. “Nobody should be going off on their own. “

“Agreed.” Douglas, shivering looked at the array for a few moments, squinting his eyes. “Let’s go, we need to establish communications quickly,” Douglas walking out toward the array slowly, waiting for the Rainns. “Come on, let’s not waste time!”

As she stepped outside the runabout, Tija overheard the two Cadets. Addressing them, she said, “You are correct, Cadet, that we need to establish communications as soon as possible and I’m glad you are eager to help. Yet it isn’t wise to just leave. We need to work as a team. All of us. And right now that means two things in particular: First, deciding together who to move forward from here. Second, never leave the team without telling someone where you are going. We can’t afford having to search for you as well while we try to rescue the miners.” While her voice was stern, there was a certain softness in her features, hinting at the fact that her sternness came from a place of concern.

Douglas briefly stopped before proceeding and turning around, “You’re right. What should we do next?”
(Cadet. Douglas. Science)
“We should wait for the rest of the team to gather here and then split up in ways that makes sense while keeping everyone informed where the rest is going,” Tija replied matter-of-factly. Her panic attack had apparently passed; or at least she had managed to get a grip on herself and was her slightly stern, to the point self again.

The fact that the Chief Medical officer who had, moments ago, been balled up in her seat in a state of catatonic shock over a couple bumps in a runabout, was now acting in a position of authority almost made Rainns chuckle. He desperately wanted to give off a remark towards the Doctor pointing this out, but bit his tongue. Picking a fight with a superior officer would be a terrible idea at any time, but especially now given the circumstances. He simply waited by the runabout doors, waiting for someone to assert themselves with a plan.
