K’sang made his way to the Counselor’s office at a less than brisk pace, it wasn’t that he abstained the idea of expression. It simply still seemed alien to him, the concept of exposing one’s self weaknesses in an effort to conquer ones self was practiced in meditation and through hard work, often at the end of a Bat’leth. His mind seemed to wander with thoughts of Qo’noS and his time in the first city long before he arrived at the door. K’sang paused as his thoughts were grounded, “Wo’ batlhvaD, For the Honor of Starfleet.” he thought. Pressing the chime, K’sang awaited entrance.

The door slid open and the office on the other side of the door was unlike any area in the rest of the ship. It was lit in a more subdued manner than the rest of the ship, with the light coming from wall lamps rather than the typical overhead lighting. Multiple bookcases with glass enclosed shelves lined one wall, filled with copies and originals of many texts on many different subjects, and a quick glance would show multiple languages as well. The desk was set at an angle against the opposite wall to the door in the corner, allowing for a large open space in the middle. Here there was a couch and a few chairs, one of which sat in front of and facing away from the desk. Pictures hung on the walls, some were even old photographs. Each depicted either places, individuals, or groups of people, and many were in black and white.

The Counselor was wholly plain looking; in fact so nondescript that he almost blended in with the office. His voice, on the other hand, was distinctive. “Please come in. I am Lieutenant Commander Korczak, the ship’s Counselor. Have a seat.” and he indicated the siting area before the desk. The man had a most unusual accent, as if two wholly unrelated accents were vying for control. Even with that, his speech was clear and articulate; with crisp pronunciation and diction. The only other noticeable fact of the man were the glasses perched on his nose… actual glasses.

Korczak took a seat in the seating area and pushed said glasses up his nose a bit higher. “If you would like a drink before we start, you are welcome to the replicator as well.”

Korczak, CNS

“No, thank you. I have yet to find the time to adjust the Bahgol recipe (Tea like drink) to make it taste correct.” K’sang replied as he strode across the room to take intended seating.

If only for a brief moment, the Cadet’s attention was completely focused on the care of his Baldric as he took his seat before looking back toward Korczak, “Where would you like to begin Lieutenant Commander?” He remained professional, yet subtle intones of his voice suggested innate resistance that K’sang forced aside as he made a mental evaluation of Korczak’s counselor space.

(K’sang, Cadet)

Korczak smiled slightly and said “Typically, I ask the questions in here, Cadet. But we can start with the simple. How was your journey to the ship?” he asked, his accent lending a strange but not unpleasant cadence to the syllables of the words he spoke.

Korczak, CNS

“It was enjoyable, I was able to join my nephew in his trial of courage during my two week leave of absence before assignment here. My brother raised a fine boy, he will become a great warrior.”

K’sangs posture relaxed slightly as he gave Korczak his undivided attention, “For the actual journey there isn’t much to tell, as expected the crew had mixed responses to being assigned to delivering a Klingon to Star Fleet.” he said with a sigh, “But there is a difference between following tradition and clinging to old ways that no longer have a place in our culture.”

“True enough, I suppose. So what path, exactly, brought you here? You are certainly not the first of your kind in Star Feet, but it is a rare enough occasion to be noteworthy.”

Korczak, CNS

“Someone saw something different and decided it was worth the effort.” he said, Looking forward he considered the events that lead up to this point. “I’ve always been an outsider, a … loser if you will. It’s was out of resentment that I discovered science in the first place, as I grew so did my interest in understanding how existance works in general. I didn’t have access to proper lessions for many years, instead I had to take oppertunity when it presented itself. Wanna study animal anatormy? Go to the butcher and so on.”
K’sang looked back to Korczak once more, “It wasnt until I was old enough to consider challenging others (Teenager 19’ish) that I really had the opertunity to recieve a more comprehensive education. Long story short, in exchange for the kind of education I recieved I’ve got a big debt to repay.”
