Winston hurriedly rushed out of sickbay. He would come back later, but this deviation from his given schedule would surely lead to some kind of consequences. He stepped into the turbolift as soon as it opened, nearly slamming face-first into the automatic doors.
“Main- Main engineering.” He stuttered to the turbolift. Even though it was an automated voice recognition system, and it would execute his commands all the same, Greiss felt somewhat bad whenever he fumbled an order, be it to a replicator or even just an intercom terminal.
After a harrowing and nerve-racking couple seconds riding in the lift, the doors opened to main engineering. He stepped in, terrified of the scolding he’d receive for being late.

(OOC: Hi L! Welcome to the Challenger! Just for other cadets’ benefit - as I know we’ve discussed it - the Challenger uses the regular ship posting rates. So a Department Head is expected to post at least once every five days. Cadets every seven days, and command staff ever three days, although many of us will post more frequent than that. Once you are all graduated, you will see that different ships in the club have different rates, some the same as Challenger, some faster than Challenger, and some slower than Challenger.)

As Greiss walked into Engineering, the Andorian Chief Engineer was walking out, reading a holographic display. He stopped as Griess was walking in. “Cadet Griess? I’m Lieutenant Keval Vras. You almost missed reporting in. You’ll have to come with me to finish reporting in - I have somewhere to be now, unfortunately.”

Keval started walking towards the turbolift, clearly expected the cadet to follow along. As he entered the turbolift, he stated their destination. “Bridge.”

The bridge? already? He began to sweat. “I- um… I’m so sorry for being late.” He repeatedly rubbed his forefinger and thumb together.
“If there’s anything at all I can do for you, I can help out. I swear, nothing like this will happen again… it’s just so… overwhelming.” He tried to avoid eye contact with Vras, sheepishly staring at the floor.

“Sir?” Greiss said, attempting to regain composure. “I must ask, what might your task on the bridge? Perhaps… I might be able to help?
~ Cadet Griess, Engineer

“Well, Cadet,” Keval said, “I have to be on the bridge right about now, so you can join me there while you finish reporting in.”

The turbolift doors opened, and Keval stepped out onto the bridge.

(OOC: I’m going to continue this in a new thread, but you can still post your character’s response here if you want.)
