Keval was part of the lead of the party entering the mine entrance. He took out his tricorder to scan for power and unusual readings, while comparing the layout to what he learned back on Challenger’s bridge.“Hello,” he called out. “We’re from the Federation starship Challenger. Is anyone here?”

=^= McMorran to Lieutenant Vras. Are you receiving me? =^= If a response was received, she continued. =^= The storms in the area won’t clear for at least twelve hours. Our best hope of maintaining communications, for now, is to strengthen our signals. Cadet Douglas should have everything needed to establish a signal booster and is instructed to do so with the aid of the engineering crew. =^=

Keval looked around again, and with no answer to his initial call out, he tapped his communicator to response. =^= Thank you, Challenger. We’ll see what we can do to boost power to communications. It’s pretty desolate down here, so any work is bound to be a source of excitement for all of us. Vras out =^=
Keval started by turning to Cadet Douglas. “Cadet, start work on boosting power to the communications system with our equipment. NE Sulok will give you a hand.”
The Andorian looked over at Cadet Halloway. “Halloway, I want to know what actually happened here that led to the distress call. See if you can access any of the station’s logs.”
As the cadets started their work, Keval went to the station systems terminal to see if he could get a status on the various systems in the facilty.
