After calling up his file on the PaDD, Tija skimmed through it before asking, “Have there been any changes in your sleeping or eating habits over the past six months? Or have you had any recent illness or injuries that might not be on your file?” While she was very to the point and professional, she wasn’t unfriendly. It just seemed that she wasn’t one for small talk.

OOC: As this is your character you’d be the one to provide the information what my CMO sees in your character’s medical file. :)

~Lt. Tija, CMO

OOC: Okay.

IC: “I haven’t. been eating much because of stress of me losing my family. But my sleeping has been a little off but not that often.” As Rabb answered the doctors questions he asks “Doctor. Why is my sleeping and my eating have been?” As he asks the doctor those questions.

OOC: Hey Christopher, I feel like part of the question your character is asking is missing. Could you tell me what you’re character is asking? And please don’t worry about making mistakes. We all do and I too have hit the submit button too early before and only later realized that I hadn’t actually typed everything I had meant to write. What I find helpful for that is to use the moment of signing my posts as a small break to make sure I actually did write everything and that the tense is correct (or in my case that I didn’t make typos or used wrong words).

~Silke

OOC: My character is asking why he hasn’t been sleeping or eating very well.

Christopher

OOC: Thank you :)

IC:
“I’m sorry to hear about the loss of your family. I know how hard it is to lose family members,” Tija replied with genuine empathy. “To answer your question,” she continued, “It’s one of different normal reactions to grief and stress. In most cases it passes. Yet, I would recommend talking to the Counsellor. He knows about grief and talking about what happened has proven to be beneficial. If you like you can here before going to bed for the next few days and we’ll give you something to help you fall asleep and stay sleep. However, while I’m not concerned right now, I want you to inform or another member of my department if you see no improvement regarding your sleep and appetite or if you feel like it gets worse. Okay?” There was concern and kindness in her eyes as she looked him in the eyes.

~Lt. Tija, CMO

“Of course Doctor.” As he stands up and leaves.

OOC: Don’t forget to sign of and try to remember to use past tense :) Also, my CMO does not take kindly to people just walking of in the middle of an evaluation. It’s completely IC (in character) though :)

IC:
For a short moment Tija just stood there, looking perplexed at the retreating for of the Cadet. But as soon as her initial surprise had passed, she called after him, “Cadet Rabb, your boarding evaluation isn’t finished.” She wasn’t yelling, just speaking a bit louder than normally. Yet the authority was unmistakable and anybody listening closely - or watching her expression and body language - might also be able to detect a hint of annoyance or maybe even anger. Yet with her arms crossed in front of her chest, she did nothing else to make him come back. Instead she was hoping, or probably expecting, that he had heard her and would return accordingly. If not, well they would cross that bridge if and when it came to it.

~Lt. Tija, CMO

As he heard her, he goes back and completes it and says “Sorry Doctor. I forgot that it wasn’t done.”

Cadet Rabb-security.
