Two steps taken, one step remains. Kast thought, the big Caitian’s long legs eating up the distance between the medical office and the counseling centre. This was the part he was less sure of.
Oh, he was mentally fit. He’d passed all evaluations, albeit with the occasional yellow flag. But his time as an Acolyte had conditioned him to be wary of those who wanted to test his mental state.
You’d still BE an acolyte if it hadn’t, but you’re here now so behave and stop fretting. He told himself.
Taking a breath outside the counselor’s office, he took a second to center his thoughts.
Then he stepped inside, resuming his stance of attention, eyes on the bulkhead behind the counselor’s desk.
“Cadet Satyol Kastyi, reporting for Aboarding psychological evaluation, as ordered.” And he presented his PaDD with all relevant records keyed up.
Maybe after this I can finally get my berth assignment. He thought, as he awaited the officer’s response.
