Having failed to be thrown off the Challenger after checking in with his department head, Kastyi felt rather optimistic about his next stop in sickbay. A few past injuries aside, he believed he was quite healthy. Participation in the martial arts teams at the Academy did wonders for keeping the body in shape, and Judo was a hell of a workout even among the martial arts.

Still, the datawork had to be observed, so he made his way along through the corridors, checking his reference map for directions carefully. It reminded him of arrival in San Francisco, actually. Go to medical! Go to Bursar! Get to Admin! All locations blurring together into one chaotic impression of a labyrinth constructed entirely of offices and unsmiling administrators behind sharp-lined desks.

But this would be different. This was a starship.

He entered the medbay, again standing to attention. Cadets always stood to attention, and by this point the motion was hard-wired into his musculature.

“Cadet Satyol Kastyi, reporting for physical and medical examination. My orders and Academy medical record.” He held out his PaDD, with the appropriate files already on the screen. After all, it paid to be in good with the Doc.

OOC: Welcome aboard the Challenger! Your post is really good! Also, I’m not too familiar with some of the races in Star Trek, so I apologize if I use the wrong name or get something wrong about your character, aha. I’ll be consulting Memory Alpha on this one!

IC:
“Relax, Cadet,” Cadet Mika said, as she had been told she would be taking Satyol’s examination, and so she had been waiting for him.

Cadet Mika was a short woman, standing at just five feet and four inches, and took on a.. less feminine appearance, her hair styled in a pixie cut, and the lack of any makeup on her face. She was rather fit herself, having just revealed herself as a martial arts enthusiast to the ship. She studied Judo as well, before coming to the Academy. Still, she had a distinctly feminine feel about her, with a narrow face and pointed cheekbones, her blue eyes serious.

“Thank you, you’re quite prepared,” She said to him, looking at his PaDD and reading over his file.

Mika never got tired of doing examinations for new Cadets, she always like talking to them and meeting them. It was one of her favorite jobs as a medical Cadet. Gesturing toward a nearby biobed, she said, “Have a seat and we’ll get this show on the road, alright?”

As she headed over to the biobed she’d pointed at, she handed Satyol back his PaDD and picked up her own, as well as a Tricorder. “Is there anything you should tell me that wouldn’t in your medical file? Anything like a sickness or change in eating and sleep habits? Or a trip outside of Federation space?”

The Caitian sat onto the biobed easily, adjusting his tail out of the way and sitting upright, readily enough. He was relaxing a bit seeing as he was in the company of another Cadet. There was a commonality of experience there, and an instinctive desire to help a classmate out.

“I had a little trouble getting to sleep before the transfer, I only got an hour or two of sleep before I had to get up and beam aboard. But that’s probably just me being excited. First time on a real ship since I got to San Francisco, other than the training exercises around Sol system.” He smiled, not really able to hide his enthusiasm. “It’s been a…very busy four years, it feels good to be here, so what’s a few hours’ lost sleep?” He thought about the rest of it, and shook his head. “But no, nothing out of the ordinary that I can think of. Tricorder saying anything special?”

He couldn’t imagine that it would, he worked out regularly, didn’t eat TOO unhealthily given Cadet diets were monitored and prescribed, but one never knew.

OOC: Caitians are basically anthropomorphic cat people, hope that helps! As for the name and everything, he’s got a very obviously Bajoran name, not a Caitian name. Caitian names are very “cat” sounding, like M’riss, lots of sibilants and trilling Rs. Also he has a Bajoran earring on his right ear. Hope those facts help!

OOC: Ah, I see! XD so, since I am scanning your charrie, you get to decide what it says.

IC: Mika had begun scanning Satyol with the tricorder, running the little node bit down near his body from his head to his toes. As she did, she watched the tricorder’s screen. “No, that all sounds pretty normal to me.” She smiled a small smile and added, “I know I didn’t sleep quite right in the days leading up to boarding the ship.”

In addition to energy and brainwave levels consistent with a minor lack of sleep, he apparently hadn’t eaten in at least fifteen hours, apart from what was apparently a hefty dose of coffee at the max caffeine level allowable to students. Consistent with his medical records, there were indications of the left leg and right hand having been broken, the hand multiple times in the past. The hand also showed signs of extensive reconstruction work consistent with starfleet procedures in correcting sub-par medical treatment.

“It’s all pretty…incredible. The Ranjans would boggle to see me here, tell you what.”

(Cadet Satyol, Scientist)

“Everything looks good, you appear to be in acceptable health. Make sure you’re taking care of yourself, alright?” She said, reading the scan and then moving away. “But either way, you are cleared for duty.” And then she smiled and replied, “Well, enjoy it, you’ve earned it by coming this far in the Academy.”

“Any other questions or anything before you head on your way?” She asked him.
