Dr. Mai Hart is quite pale with a bush of orange curls atop his head. His eyes are apple green. And, he’s a little disproportioned, and stands at 3’ 9”.
The doctor looks at a panel by the counselor’s door. He then presses a button to make noise inside the office.
“The doctor is to see the doctor,” Mai’s voice is kind of high as he jokes to himself. “Or, is she not one? Oh, well.”

~Cadet, Dr. Mai Hart

“Come in!” sounded from the door panel, and the doors hissed open. The majority of the room was filled by a large seating area with an L-shaped sectional sofa done up with light blue upholstery, the long end against the back wall, the short end on the right, separating the seating area from a small desk and the food replicator. The carpeting was a lighter shade of blue, complementing but not blending with the sofa. Two end tables sat at each end of the sofa, a red vase with white daisies on the left hand one. A small footstool was positioned against the right end of the sofa, its top in the same shade of red; against the right wall are two beanbags, one in red and one in dark blue. On the back wall hung a painting of a young couple - the man in a tuxedo, the woman barefoot in a red dress - dancing on a wet beach, accompanied by two attendants, both holding their headwear in a way that strongly evoked a sensation of windiness.

“Dr. Hart!” called a feminine voice from near the food replicator. A woman stood there in standard Starfleet uniform, shoulder pauldrons clad in medical blue, black hair done up in a low bun, held in place with a wooden skewer. “I’m Counselor Lofton. Please come in,” she continued, smiling brightly, and gestured toward the seating area. “Sit wherever you’d like.”

“It’s perfect timing actually,” she told him, “as I was just getting myself something to drink. Would you like anything?”

“Some chai with almond milk would be wonderful,” he says as he enters. “My favorite tea.”

Vanessa grinned and turned to the replicator. “One cup of chai, with a pitcher of almond milk, and a cup of hot chocolate.” The replicator buzzed as the items were created, and she lifted a tray to carry them back to the seating area.

Dr. Hart climbs onto the sofa, and sits leaning back on his arms, lightly kicking his dangling legs.
“I think it’s already in my psychiatric history that I was bullied so much that I felt anxiously self-conscious, and had depression. These days, though, I’m quite happy. A lot of respect came with becoming a doctor.”

~Cadet, Dr. Mai Hart

The counselor nodded as she set his cup-and-saucer and milk on the end table beside him. “It is in your file, but I’m very glad to hear it’s been better recently. Graduating medical school is quite an accomplishment, something to be proud of, and then attending the Academy even more so.”

She seated herself on the other leg of the sofa, crossing her left knee over her right as she leaned her side against the sofa back and sipped the hot chocolate. “What made you decide to join Starfleet instead of being a civilian doctor?”

Lt. Cmdr. Vanessa Lofton - CNS
