(snip)

The lab was sparse. Blakely could almost taste the metal of some of the harsher, shinier worksurfaces.

The interior of the cupboard was quite a different story. Behind the parted doors was a surprisingly large space spanning bag several meters. A central floorspace was flanked by cupboards reaching from the floor all the way up to a ceiling about two feet above the cadet’s head. The Scottish woman was stood beside an upturned container. Evidently she had been trying to raise her reach to the upper shelves. “Thank you kindly!” In her now outstretched arms William would find an clear-topped container within which several clear bags were visible, each seeming to house a diverse collection of what looked like bones. “If you could stick that in the gap on the top shelf you would make a fair fine first impression!” the CSO smiled.

Lt. J.G. Aili McMorran - CSO

OOC: Good to have you aboard. Any questions, any time, just let me know! :)

Blakely took the clear-topped container and was quite intrigued by the diverse collections inside.

“I’ll do my best,” it wasn’t particularly heavy and he managed lifting it just fine. Sticking it into the gap on the top shelf would prove a tad more complex. Moving everything very carefully, trying not to damage anything, he managed that too.

The other occupant of the cupboard edged left and right with raised hands as Blakely hauled the container, ready should anything fall back to the deck.

“Done. That’s looks like a very interesting collection.”

“Ah, yes, I suppose they are.” The woman ran a hand through her red hair. “Old bone samples from Holatia III. These things need recatalogued pretty frequently… for whatever reason.” A sigh punctuated the end of her complaint as she straightened up.

A hand extended to William. “Lt. McMorran, Chief Science Officer. Good to meet you… Blakely, is it?”

Lt. Aili McMorran - CSO

OOC: Here I’ve ‘snipped’ away the older posts. We do this every now and then to keep threads from building up finger-killing levels of scrolling! :D

“Old bone samples? How fascinating… they must have a wonderful story behind them… or a secret to uncover.”

William shook her hand with a friendly smile.

“That’s right. Cadet William Blakely, the pleasure is mine.”

OOC: Sorry for the long delay! I hope I’ll be able to reply regularly from now on.
