(OOC: This tread takes place in the ship’s lounge, “Nine Forward.” Why is it called Nine Forward? You read about that in the Challenger’s ship specifications: https://www.star-fleet.com/library/bookshelf/tm/discovery.html. Every ship in STF is part of a ship class created by STF members and approved by our club’s Engineering Department; the Challenger is a Discovery-class ship.

Cadets are encourage to join this thread if they want some practice at RP-ing in STF outside of the main sim. Feel free to interact with my character… or not :P)

Eric walked into Nine Forward. He had Lofton’s most recent personnel reports that Eric needed to review, but doing so in his quarters right now seemed… not much fun. So PaDD in hand, Eric looked around the lounge, saw an empty table and seats next to the observation window, and headed straight for it.

Sitting down, Eric put the PaDD down as someone came by to take his order. “An Earth lager, please,” Eric requested. Waiting for his drink to arrive, Eric got more relaxed in chair and started to review the reports.

Dael entered Nine Forward humming the medley to the new operatic piece he had come across. It had been Andorian and he always was intrigued by their use of antennae signs in conjunction with the tune, as well as the themes which could put a Klingon piece to shame. His fingers moved around on the PADD he had in his hand as he hummed, scanning over some new graviton field ideas one of his Academy pen pals had sent his way.

Almost colliding with one of the servers and a quick apology later, he made a point to get out of his own head for once and focus on those around him. He still read the letter in front of him but opened his mind up to the room, deftly dodging another server as his thoughts connected in Dael’s mindscape on his way to a table. He went for a table that he felt was empty, seeing more with his telepathic senses rather than his eyes which were still finishing their reading. Sitting down however proved more of a challenge without looking, and when he glanced down he noticed his superior officer at the table and chair directly behind his.

“Sir! Sorry I didn’t see you there, I hope I didn’t disturb you…sir” Dael said standing more at attention, and cursing his tunnel vision focus. You really have to get better at awareness, Dael, especially as a Betazoid you’d think that’d come naturally.
