OOC: Hello and thank you for having me!

IC:
T’Saie began her walk through the ship with an immediate direction in mind, the sickbay on deck 6. Passing through turbolifts, long hallways and other cadets she eventually arrived just outside the sickbay doors. With a tiny glimpse of hesitation she tapped the door console and entered, seemingly scanning for the department head and eventually finding her around the corner.

She snaps to attention, “Cadet T’Saie reporting for duty, Lieutenant.” she said clearly and confidently, maintaining her posture and awaiting a response..

“At ease Cadet, welcome aboard,” Sera smiled in greeting, “Welcome to sickbay as well.”

~Seraphina Walsh~

“Thank you, Lieutenant,” giving a small nod of acknowledgement before loosening up slightly with her hands clasped behind her back. “I am.. eager to get started” she added in an overtly nonchalant Vulcan tone whilst maintaining attentive body language, showing she was ready to begin her work.

OOC: Callie, these are great posts! Normally I wouldn’t say anything but, don’t worry about putting in the “>” symbols in your post. It is done automatically by the system and turns the text different colors to indicate aging.

About this time the first reports of wounded came in. Nothing too severe but lot of sprains and concussions from the blows. The first cadet that was carried in was an engineer who had plasma burns to his arm and chest from a ruptured conduit, the second, supported by two security ensigns, was not in as bad of a shape appearing to have a broken leg from the fall.

“Looks like you’re in luck,” Sera rose from her seat, “Looks like our initial meeting may have to wait, let’s get these folks treated. Which would you like, the plasma burns or the broken leg? I’ll take other.”

~Seraphina Walsh~

OOC: Oh! Thank you for letting me know.

IC:
All it took was a quick scan of the situation to triage the patients, it was a small surprise that injuries were happening so soon after she arrived on the ship however she wasn’t planning on standing around all day. T’Saie quickly turned towards the patients, “I’ll handle the plasma burns” before moving briskly to help get the engineer onto one of the biobeds.

She turns towards one of the assistants: “I need 3cc’s of Terakine for the pain” she requested whilst taking out a dermal regenerator to start treating the burns. Then turning to the engineering cadet, “What’s your name, Cadet?” she begins, attempting to get them talking and to see if they’re conscious of the situation.

Nurse Ratchet nodded and grabbed the hydrospray of Terakine from the medical replicator and silently handed it off to T’Saie with a brief flash of concern to to the engineering cadet.

The engineer grimaced from the pain, unable to answer for himself, but his partner responded. “Jones. His name is Bernie Jones,” he grunted and then added, “And I am Wysocki.”

The biobed took its half second to complete its scan. Jones had burns over 30% of his body down to the bone in some parts and all of the associated medical conditions that go along with traumatic burn

All it took was a quick scan of the biobed before T’Saie’s training came into effect, “Thank you, Wysocki.” she responded to the other crewman, then turning back to the nurse after analysing the information in front of her, “The burns have gone through to the bone, I need you to set up an infusion unit with Metrazine..” she said as she started attaching an infusion port, “we then need a pulmonary scanner set up.”

She quickly moved to get an electrophoretic dialysis unit to filter any particles from the cadet’s blood, a mask ventilator to ensure he has enough oxygen, a protoplaser and an autosuture to help close the wounds, the dermal regenerator was on standby.

After closer inspection of the wounds, T’Saie couldn’t help but wince a bit however she remained confident and steady, now the infusion was attached and pain-killers were administered, she began to prep the protoplaser to start closing the open wounds..

Nurse Ratchet, to her credit, was quite skilled at her job and was able to almost anticipate what the cadet was going to ask for, having the devices ready to go as soon as T’Saie asked for them. “He’ll pull through,” the nurse muttered. Not really a diagnosis more of an assessment of the cadet’s skill.

The wound closure was slow going, but not that difficult. There was just a lot of wounds to close and skin to regenerate.

Meanwhile, Sera got to work on the broken leg. Pulling out her tricorder, she began scanning the leg to determine the precise spot of the break and the type.

“Nurse French, prep a 2cc dose of terakine for the pain and get me an osteogenic stimulator,” she ordered, turning to the cadet, “I’ll get your pain taken care of shortly and then we’ll heal your leg, alright?”

~Seraphina Walsh~

French nodded and handed Walsh the drug that she had requested before turning her attention back to finding the stimulator. The cadet looked up to Walsh and nodded emphatically, “That would be swell, Ma’am. Really swell. I’d really like to be able to walk on it again soon.”

Lt. McMorran strode purposefully into sickbay. Coming to a halt, she surveyed the scene. From her close friendship with the ship’s previous CMO, she knew acutely well not to aggrevate the medical staff by interrupting their work. When Lt. Walsh appeared less intently involved, she called out. “Lt. Walsh, when you are able we are to coordinate an assessment of the situation.” A computer terminal in the remote corner of the space caught her eye. “I’ll prepare over here.”
