=/\= Thank you for the update, Lieutenant. Please send Cadet Stadi to the Bridge. We require a liaison with engineering to ensure that we can safely attempt to communicate with venting warp plasma and his telepathy may come in handy. =/\=

  • Davis, CO (crosspost)

Sapeth paused. If he wasn’t a Vulcan he would have definitely sighed. Of course the Captain was requiring one of his senior cadets to be on the bridge, instead of actually doing critical repairs to the ship.

=^= Of course Captain. Engineering out. =^=

Dael was nearly out of the Engineering deck and he heard the Captain’s response. He stopped in his tracks. His stomach dropped. Oh boy…ooooooh boy. Requested to the bridge? Me? On the bridge? In the middle of things? He suddenly had the wish to be down in waste extraction, changing a hard to reach relay covered in unprocessed junk rather than be right where he was. He turned and slowly made his way back to where his Chief was standing. “On my way to the bridge then sir?” he asked, setting down his toolkit, trying to absorb what calming mental states might be nearby into his own head. Just focus on the problem, something about venting warp plasma, that could be interesting. Never mind needing your telepathy, or being surrounded by the senior staff in the middle of it all, the fact that you might be essential to this.... Warp plasma, focus on warp plasma…

OOC: Don’t forget to sign your post. :-D

IC:
“Indeed Cadet,” Sapeth said as he turned towards the Stadi who had stopped just inside the door. “And Cadet Stadi, try and keep the Captain from causing any further damage to the ship.”
OOC: Whoops, must’ve gotten too focused on warp plasma :)

IC: Dael paused for a moment to wonder if the Vulcan’s comment had been an attempt at humor or a genuine plea. He had noted a hint of irritation break through the telepathic blocks the Chief typically had up, and given the circumstances, he decided it was both. He gave Sapeth a small grin as he responded, “Aye, sir.” He then turned towards the turbolift, his superior’s comment a little boost from the nervous energy as he told the turbolift to take him to the bridge, and he was whisked away.

Cadet Stadi, Engineering

Turning back to engineering as a form of dismissal, Sapeth looked towards Torres.

“Cadet Torres. I will complete the tasks involving the warp engines. Take over for Cadet Stadi on the shield repairs.”

Looking over at the list of ongoing repairs, Sapeth honed in on the warp core and started looking at what repairs were currently ongoing.

Lt Sapeth - CE

Torres looked at Sapeth

“Alright sir do you need me to do or help with anything?”

Cadet Torres

NE Michellson looked aside to Torres and stepped forward to guide the cadet towards the shield control panel. “I need your help over here, Cadet.”

Reaching the panel he looked up and winked at Sapeth ever so subtilty before looking down at the panel and pointing at some of the diagrams for Torres. “Here. I think this conduit is broken. See how the power readings to the aft junction is lopsided? Problem is I don’t think I can see what would have caused that. What do you think?”

Torres looked at the pannel

“Have you tried recalibrating the conduit?” Torres looked at NE Michellson

“If that doesn’t work il go over and help replace it”

-Cadet Torres

Michellson looked up at Torres and nodded, “Yes. I can’t do it from here. Someone is going to need to go down there and make the adjustment manually to bypass that valve.” He sighed, “I can go down there or you can. One of us is going to need to go there.”

OOC: Don’t forget to add all your punctuation to your posts. It just helps when other people are reading.

IC:
As Torres worked with Michellson on the shields, Sapeth was over at the warp core realigning the injection manifold. “What is status on replacing the cracked couplers?”

Having finished his latest tweak of the alignment on the manifold, he referenced his tricorder to see how much further he still had to go.

Lt Sapeth - CE

Woods looked up from her station and nodded to Sapeth, “Couplers are being replaced. 10 to 15 minutes away from completion the team is reporting.” The Tricorder reported back that the total repairs would be completed within the hour.
