OOC (Out of Character): What a wonderful first post, Sara! Welcome aboard the Challenger!

  • Sarah, CO

OOC: I agree with Sarah, great first post. :)

IC:

Sera looked up and smiled, “Welcome aboard Cadet, at ease,” she nodded, “I am indeed Doctor Seraphina Walsh, if you like I can complete your boarding physical for you and then you can get right down to work.”

OOC: Thank you both! :)

IC:

Tiernan relaxed, and so the itch became too strong—he smoothed down his cowlick. For the time being, it obeyed.

“I’m more than ready, Lieutenant,” he agreed. “I’m excited t’ be here.”

“That’s exactly what I like to hear,” Sera smiled again, “Pick a bio bed, I’ll grab a tricorder and I’ll complete your boarding scan.” She waved in the general direction of the bio beds before heading to the nearest diagnostic tray.

Nodding, Tiernan chose the first biobed he came to and sat there at the edge. He rubbed the rounds of his knees and tried to ease the hum of anxiety buzzing through his limbs. There was no sense in being nervous, he reminded himself, but it was difficult to contain his excitement. Soon he would be responsible for caring for a crew alongside other bright nurses and doctors, stepping foot into a career that perhaps his family had not wanted, but hopefully becoming a man they could be proud of nonetheless.

“Alright,” Sera returned with a tricorder in hand, tapping a button to pull up the cadet’s medical history from the database, “Any medical problems you have noticed since your last exam?” She asked as she initiated a medical scan.

~Seraphina Walsh~

“None,” he said. “Well…” He trailed off. “My records should state that I suffered a prominent injury as a child.” Tiernan tapped his right shoulder. “Shattered it. That was ten years ago and usually it isn’t a problem, but there are occasions when it hurts. Cold weather an’ such. Like a bloody old man.” This brought a laugh out of him, a sound that sounded somehow much older and far more tired than any young man in his early twenties should. “It shouldn’t affect my work, but sometimes I have to take a painkiller when it acts up.”
