“Ahh,” Anders began, “This is where the fun begins.” The security chief clicked his fingers and, within seconds, a rack of Type 4 phaser rifles materialised before the cadet. “These babies are on maximum stun. The safeties are locked on as you know, so I don’t expect to have to stop to carry you back to Sickbay.” He winked to show Rodier that he was only playing.

-Lieutenant Junior Grade Kyle Anders: Chief of Security-

OOC: What’s a Type 4 phaser rifle? It’s not listed in the Security Course’s weapons list.

IC:
“I should hope not” Henry replied, picking up a rifle, checking the safety as he did so. Shouldering the rifle, he took a wide-stance position next to his superior and asked “When do we start, sir?”

OOC: See this is why I should’ve read the Security Course panflet myself. What are the weapons listed?

-Lieutenant Junior Grade Kyle Anders: Chief of Security-

OOC: Apologies for the late response. The main phaser rifle variants (not including the projectile rifle/heavy things) are Type IIIa, Type IIIb, Type IIIc, and Type IIId. Type IIIa and b are rarely seen in service, and Type IIId is designed for use with EVA suits. The Type IIIc Pulse Compression Phaser Rifle is the standard-issue rifle.

OOC: Thank you for clarifying, we’ll retcon it to a Type IIIc.

IC:

Kyle smiled, “Computer, begin programme.” Around the two security officers, several members of a pirate crew made up of members of the Orion Syndicate appeared from thin air and levelled their plasma weapons on the older COS, “See you on the other side lad.” He winked and bolted further into the corridor, firing bolts at the pirates as he went along.

-Lieutenant Junior Grade Kyle Anders: Chief of Security-

Rodier dodged for cover in a small enclave in the nearby wall. Hearing the shots continue, he hopped out of cover, firing on the few remaining pirates ahead of him. With Anders now way ahead of him, the Cadet dropped his rifle to one hand at his side, sprinting forward and visually scanning the area for crew members.
