As Ensign Pike materialized from the transporter, he gazes at the ship and at the transporter chief in awe. Ensign Pike grew up in the Appalachia Mountains gazing to the stars just wondering what it was like .. until he had a chance to go to the Star Fleet Academy. Now he just craves going out into the blackness of space to see what new adventures will meet him.
Saluting the chief, “Reporting for duty. Where do you want me?”

“Welcome aboard Cadet. I recommend stowing your gear at your bunk, and then head down to engineering and check in with the Lieutenant. He’ll be expecting you.” Chief Ferry said from the transporter console.

Chief Ferry - Transporter Chief

Yes Sir. I went to stow my gear - hmm not very spacious accommodations - I suppose all I need right now is a place to lay my head. After that I head down to engineering to check in with the lieutenant. I wonder what I will be doing? I wonder what adventures we will be having on this cruse. I am getting ahead of myself. My mission at this point is to help this ship to go where it needs to go and get there safely. At least to do my part in not allowing the engines to blow up.

The turbo lift arrives - hmm maybe someday the technology would get to a point where I would not have to walk so far. The door opens and I look in awe at all the machinery required to make these warp engines work! I walk to the station where the Lieutenant is standing and salute and say “Cadet Pike ready for duty, sir!”.

OOC: Just a couple of quick notes. First, make sure that you don’t have a “>” at the start of each line of your post. This is added to denote the older posts you are responding to. Second, we do write in third person, not first person. Just an easier way when you are going back and reading through older posts as well, so you aren’t constantly trying to figure out who “I” is. :-)

IC:
“At ease Cadet,” Sapeth said turning to face the saluting cadet. “If you would please join me in my office,” he said leading the way.

As they entered he indicated the chair in front of the desk, as he took a seat behind the immaculately clean desk. While engineering could be a messy discipline at times, Sapeth preferred a clean work space to start with. Not to mention it was significantly easier to find what you were looking for in a moments notice.

“I hope you had a pleasant trip to the Challenger Cadet.”

Lt Sapeth - CE
