It didn’t take long to go through the two medikits as T’Saie had studied and knew exactly what to be looking for. ‘They were both ready to go‘ she thought to herself, hoping the cadets don’t forget them on their way. She snapped around gracefully, looking around Sickbay she saw an excess of unnecessary equipment lying around and seeing that both nurse French and Ratchet had everything under control, she thought she had better keep being useful.

As she started walking, she let the CMO pass in-front of her before moving around sickbay to tidy up unimportant equipment and to ensure the Biobeds are ready for more patients, should they be needed.

Sera regarded the scans with her dark eyes, “It does indeed resemble a nervous system, I can’t say that I have, but we can see if we get any hits off the medical database,” she tapped a few buttons to run a comparison search.

The medical database a took a moment to return any results at all but eventually came back with the suggestion that the nervous system worked on electrical impulses alone however a lot have some sort of fluid to aid in the transmission of those signals. In short, what is happening in the ship could be a nervous system. What they are looking at very easily could be a new undocumented synthetic life form.

Aili’s hair was held up in a mess as her elbow jutted out from the side of her head. “What do we look at then to classify something as living or non-living, as we understand such things?”

Lt. McMorran - CSO

“Well this thing certainly looks like it could be something synthetic,” Sera pursed her lips, mentally stepping back through her training, “Computer, compare these scans to any known synthetic lifeforms in the database.”

She wasn’t sure if that would return any hits, but maybe if she could find a previous encounter with some similar lifeform that they could use to start to develop how to deal with this thing.

As T’Saie finished packing away equipment she meandered herself back to Cadet Wysocki, heading straight for the biobed monitor to check up on the cadets condition whilst Nurse Ratchet continued to heal his plasma burns. “How’s he doing?” she questioned with a small degree of concealed concern, tapping away at the biobed console.

Her arms now crossed firmly, the CSO made a brusque comment. “Makes you wonder who’d put something like this together in the first place.”

Lt. McMorran - CSO

“Could be simply as an experiment perhaps,” Sera shrugged, “People have been trying to recreate artificial life for nearly as long as civilizations have been around. Not my cup of tea personally, but I suppose some people might consider playing with the building blocks of sentient life as fun.”

“I wonder what the limits are on this thing’s intelligence,” she mused out loud, “I can identify a nervous system, for certain, but is that the extent of it or is there more?”

~Seraphina Walsh~

The computer came back with the results: It was similar to other synthetic life that had been found else where in the galaxy. It appeared to have the necessary parts to live without an organic crew, though reproduction seemed… complicated. It would be fair to think that this specimen was part of a new species.

“A living ship?” Tiernan echoed, awed. “Incredible…”

He could agree with Sera—the idea of man meddling with Creation, making their own species, playing at God, didn’t sit well with him—but he would be lying if he said that at the same time, he didn’t find the discovery utterly fascinating.

“You’re sayin’ it’s like… an android, then?” he asked.

“Quite some android” hummed the CSO. “If this is a living being”, she began musing- almost to herself- “we must make sure it’s protected. We thought it was a ship, less friendly folks might do too…”

Lt. McMorran - CSO

“Right,” Sera nodded, “It wouldn’t be the first time someone unscrupulous did something they shouldn’t with an innocent lifeform. I wonder though, if it’s synthetic, where the heck is the creator?”

~Seraphina Walsh~

The posing of that question caught Aili’s wandering focus. “Computer, are there any indications of the entities means of propulsion?”

Lt. McMorran - CSO

After taking a good look at the injured cadets condition through the biobed monitor she turned to the nurse across from her who continued to attend to his wounds, “How are you getting on?” she asked, wondering how close the cadet was from having his wounds closed properly. Then turning to the bispectral monitor to attend to the anaesthetic.

● T’Saie - Nurse Cadet ●

“I am very well, thank you,” The injured cadet said as he reached out and patted T’Saie on the arm, the drugs having taken over his senses. “You should be a nurse, you know that? So caring.” He closed his eyes a minute letting go of T’Saie. “I need a nap.”

T’Saie was appeased to know both the patient was fine and the anaesthetic was working perfectly. She couldn’t help raise an eyebrow at the injured cadet’s somewhat amusing comment. With this in mind she turned back to the biospectral monitor as he went back to sleep.

● T’Saie - Nurse Cadet ●

(Quick bump!)

The bio monitor showed normal signs, given his condition. He was fine, would heal up nicely but as for further care it wouldn’t be needed.

OOC: I’ll let Kat pull you in a little more before I distract you with too much other nonsense.

“Cadet T’Saie, status of the patients?” Sera called out, while they waited for the computer to return results, she thought she best get a status update on the injured.

~Seraphina Walsh~

OOC: Aha, thank you. I was a bit worried about this tread going into the void of over 7 days! ^-^

IC:
The results of Wysocki were promising, she turned around from the Bi-Spectral monitor to respond to the Chief, “Wysocki’s condition is improving considerably, at a safe pace. I will give you an update on Jones shortly, Lieutenant.”

Appeased with leaving the cadet in the tender hands of the other nurse, she made her way to Jones on the Bio-bed across. She wasted no time on checking his condition, tapping away at the console to gain a quick update..

● T’Saie - Nurse Cadet ●

Bump.

“Thank you,” Sera replied kindly, turning back to the mysterious synthetic lifeform.

~Seraphina Walsh~

Bump.
