“Thank you both sirs, I appreciate your confidence in me.” Dael said before catching all the new information concerning his duties. He noted some mental amusement coming off of the Commander’s mental waves, but as always, the Vulcan was a stone wall when it came to mental blocks. Oh boy… This new job is going to be interesting
Dael, despite his best efforts to sound competent and knowledgeable (and not at all anxious), knew his next stream of words might have sounded that way if he didn’t say them so quickly. “Duty rosters, right… I’ll make sure to go over that all with Lt. Sapeth sir as soon as things are done. One hour, yes that sounds like enough time. Yes sir, I suppose I’ve got a lot of things to ‘pick your brain’ for as I’ve heard humans say.” He had heard that expression before and had enjoyed it, it seemed to line up very well with the way Betazoids tried to get to know things from one another, and found it interesting it’s source was from a non-telepathic species.

Lt. jg Dael Stadi, CE
As Alison got her footing after being rescued by Kyle, she turned towards him. “Thank you for the rescue, Lieutenant…”

Lt Barr - CSO

Kyle gave a mock bow, “My pleasure ma’am,” he said with a wink, then swivelled towards the small confectionary table behind the podium and handing the CSO a small glass of champange with one of the small pouches of caramel flavoured popcorn, “Can I tempt you?”, he asked, then, seeing the look of uncertainty on her face said, “Ahh come on lass, we’re off duty, I won’t tell if you don’t.” He handed her the items, winked again and strode off to celebrate with Lieutenant Stadi.

-Lieutenant Junior Grade Kyle Anders: Chief of Security-

Alison blinked as Kyle walked off, leaving her holding the champagne flute and a small bag of popcorn. He had left before she could even respond, because there was no issue with having a glass of champagne. Frankly she enjoyed champagne. But she really did not like caramel, she hated how it felt when it got stuck in her teeth.

Taking a sip of the champagne, she turned back towards the crowd, trying to see if there was a group she could join. And perhaps some place where she could leave the popcorn without anyone noticing.

Lt Barr - CSO

After a few minutes of chatting with the CO and XO, Kyle went back over to join Lt. Barr, he smiled as he approached, “My apologies Lieutenant, didn’t mean to leave you in the lurch like that. What do you think of the backdrop?”

-Lieutenant Junior Grade Kyle Anders: Chief of Security-

Vanessa smiled and clapped as the captain announced the young man’s new rank and position - quite the accomplishment. She nodded in appreciation - he would do well. The motion in the back caught her eye, and she shifted her attention to the new chief science officer. She nodded as the other woman approached, and then grinned as Anders greeted her before turning her attention back to the ceremony.

Lt. Cmdr. Lofton, CNS

Having given the new Chief Engineer his few moments of time in the spotlight, Emmy cleared her throat somewhat awkwardly.

“Cadet T’Saie, please come forward,” she instructed, fishing around for another box below the podium in front of her.

Davis, CO

Before Alison could reply, the Captain had spoke up. She raised one finger to her lips and shhh’ed Anders. “You should probably pay attention,” she said with a gleam in her eye.

T’Saie’s eyes snapped forward out of surprise, she was startled however endeavoured not to show it. After looking around the room for a second she smartly made her way forward to the podium, standing to attention on arrival.

“Captain.” spoke T’Saie, handing a small nod of respect before she began.

Vanessa hid a grin as the Vulcan ascended the stairs to the small stage, nodding and applauding. She had been worried about T’Saie initially, but she had comported herself with aplomb, in a very stressful situation, and the counselor felt she would make an excellent officer for Starfleet.

Lt. Cmdr. Lofton, CNS

As T’Saie climbed the stairs, Kyle spun on his heel and led another loud chorus of applause.

-Lieutenant Junior Grade Kyle Anders: Chief of Security-

Alison joined in polite applause as Cadet T’Saie walked up the stairs to the stage.

Lt Barr - CSO

Kyle smiled cheekily as the applause subsided, “So where were we?”

-Lieutenant Junior Grade Kyle Anders: Chief of Security-

Emmy waited somewhat impatiently for the applause to die down.

“In coordination with Starfleet Command, it is my pleasure to promote you to Lieutenant Junior Grade and to promote you to the role of Chief Medical Officer.” She took a microscopic breath before continuing, “given the nature of the Challenger’s missions, Starfleet Medical feels that a well-qualified nurse is more than capable of being Chief Medical Officer of the ship and mentoring our future doctors and nurses. Congratulations, Lieutenant.” She punctuated the point by efficiently handing the cadet the box containing her new pips.

“Finally, I would like to recognize that Lieutenant Junior Grade Anders has been promoted to full Lieutenant for his exemplary service over the last mission on the Challenger. Congratulations, Lieutenant.”

With that, Emmy strode off of the stage and began to make her way determinedly to a nearby roller coaster.

Davis, CO

T’Saie was shaken and caught, once again, unaware and surprised at the announcement that she was to be given a posting as a Chief Medical Officer, not only because she had just graduated but also it wasn’t common for nursing staff to take on such a role. “Thank you, Captain.” she accepted sharply before stepping back as the Captain swiftly made her way to one of the rides.

As she returned to the crowd she wasted no time in replacing her Cadet insignia with her new Lieutenant ones.
