Eric turned to Davis in his chair, shaking his head a bit. “Do you ever get the feeling that our ‘quick detours’ on the way home have so far been anything but ‘quick’ or, really, a detour?”

“I’ll alert the departments and make sure we’re ready to go with those scans in twelve hours,” he said in all seriousness.

(OOC: DHs: consider yourselves notified through some boring IC notification system. It probably interrupted your catch up on the ship’s gossip, or a really fascinating chess match, or a much needed nap, or your contemplation of a ship crewed only by tribbles.)

“Your perception is accurate,” Emmy responded simply, the data certainly confirming the XO’s point. She settled back into her chair on the bridge, deciding to remain on the bridge for a while before taking a break to be prepared for the ship’s arrival at its next task.

Kyle tapped his combadge. “=/\= Anders to Cadets Rodier and Ko, I need you both prepped to head out on an away mission at the drop of a hat, we’re heading to the Valakis system. You never know what we might find.=/\=”

-Lieutenant Kyle Anders: Chief of Security-

“Should be straight forward enough Captain. I can split my team up to work on updating the maps, and reviewing the scans of the ruins. Though if we could at least come out of warp, it would be appreciated.” Alison said from where she sat.

Though if they were going to be arriving in 12 hours, she only had a few hours to get things ready and hopefully grab a few hours of sleep in there too.

Lt Barr - CSO

“An appropriate plan, Lieutenant,” Emmy addressed Barr, overhearing the COS’ call to his cadets and sincerely hoping that this would genuinely be a simple enough mission without any need for an away team, particular one with security coverage. “We will approach the sector at an appropriate speed to ensure maximum scanning capability. What would be optimal?”

The twelve hour journey passed quickly and uninterestingly. The group of people on the Bridge looked strangely similar to the make up when they had received the call from the Admiral, although Emmy was mostly focused on completing more after-action reports from their previous encounter with the somewhat sentient ship than she was on the ship’s arrival. As the helm indicated that they had arrived, Emmy glanced up.

“Take us to the speed Lieutenant Barr identified and begin the pattern for our scans,” she instructed.

=/\= Davis to Department Heads. We have arrived at our location and begun our scanning patterns. =/\=

Eric had timed his new shift on the bridge to correspond with Challenger’s arrival in the system, and just arrived from the turbolift doors. “Just in time for some mapping scans,” he said aloud, heading over to the science officers at science station to see how their work was going.
