Thorpe entered the sickbay. There didn’t seem to be much activity. Thorpe looked around the room. “Hello? I’m Cadet Thorpe. I’m here for my pre-duty medical exam”.

OOC: Hi, and welcome to the Challenger! I’ll be doing your medical check-in, since the CMO has been out for a while. I’m still a Cadet, and pretty new to STF myself, but hopefully I can help you get started. You’ll receive a lot more help from your Department Head and our ship Councilor later on.
Currently, I’m writing Out Of Character (OOC), which I’m showing by putting an “OOC:” at the front of my text. Below, I’ll post my In Character text using “IC:”.

IC:
Carmen rounded a corner, coming into the wide sickbay as she heard someone enter. She smiled at the new cadet. “Hi!” she said cheerfully, making her way to the nearest bio-bed. “I’m Carmen, I’ll be doing your check in today!” She pulled out the PADD that was tucked under her arm, and tapped it a couple of times. “You’re Robert Thorpe, right?”

OOC: Thank you! It has been a long time since I have done any kind of RPG like this. If my writing is rough I apologize.

IC: Robert followed carmen to the bio-bed. “Yes ma’am, I am Cadet Robert Thorpe. I am an Engineer”. He thought to himself, ‘why did you say that. She already knows you are an engineer’. Robert shook his head, furrow his eyebrows and quickly added “of course you already knew that. You will need to forgive me, I am nervous. It is my first day in the academy, I have been working a long time to get here”. Robert sat on the bio-bed in preparation for the exam.

Carmen’s Betazoid side could sense the Cadet’s nervousness. She smiled softly, trying to help him relax. “There’s nothing for you to apologize for. Everyone gets nervous, but you’ll do just fine.”
Carmen pulled out her tricorder, pressed a few buttons, and started to scan her patient, narrating what she was doing as she worked. “This is just a quick scan to make sure everything is okay, this will only take a moment.”
