Lieutenant Kyle Anders clocked out of his shift in Security and made his way to Holodeck One; he felt like he needed to unwind. As he approached the Holodeck Access controls, he keyed in his personal access code and activated his go-to programme, the Treble Clef Jazz Lounge. He stepped into the lounge and gave Zee, the lounge’s Bolian barmaid, a polite nod. He ordered a neat, non-syntheholic Whiskey and necked back a shot glass full.

Carmen and Cadet Maddie Marsh stood in front of Holodeck one. She read off the current program.
“The Treble Clef Jazz Lounge. It’s open for anyone, do you want to go for it?” she asked.

Maddie glances upwards at the title ‘The Treble Clef Jazz Lounge’ as Carmen reads it off to her. The title brings back a memory of a Jazz club back on Earth in her home country of Australia that donned the same name. She turned her head back just slightly to meet Carmen’s gaze and shruged her shoulders casually. “What the hell? Why not give it a try?”. The doors both extend open and Maddie walks into the holodeck simulation first. Her eyes dart from left to right examining the lounge, the casually dressed people, and was taking in the lovely sound of Jazz music. She looked over at the bar and could see Lieutenant Anders in his Starfleet uniform which made him stick out like a sore thumb. She glances at Carmen once again. “Do you know the man at the bar? This must be his simulation. He is the only person from Starfleet that I can see in here. Unless I missed someone along the way.”

“I recognize his face, but no, I can’t say I know him.” She also let her eyes wander over the bar and its patrons, and then over the whole establishment. It wasn’t quite the place Carmen would choose, but it seemed comfortable enough. The jazz music was pleasing at least, and Maddie seemed to like it.
Her thoughts were interrupted by a rather embarrassing growl from her stomach. “I don’t know about you, but I’m starving.” said Carmen, heading up to order.
