Kyle grinned, “That’s the fun part. I come to you with a challenge.” He turned to Rodier, “I was going to suggest this as a method of training for you Cadet, but why not get other departments involved. Anyone fancy a run of the deck?” Anders winked playfully.-Lieutenant Kyle Anders: Chief of Security-
Henry stopped in the process of getting back on the leg press. “I’m a bit tired out, sir, but I could stand a quick run” he said. With an almost imperceptible smile to himself, the Cadet then walked over to Anders, reaching his hand out. “But sir, if you don’t mind, I would like to check something first.”

Kyle arched an eyebrow, a childlike grin crossing his face, “What do you have in mind?”

Vanessa wiped her face again, eyeing the chrono on the wall. “I’m afraid I’m too wiped to do much more running, Mr. Anders,” she replied. “Should have shown up sooner,” she added with a grin.

“Well, if you’re scared you’re gonna lose Commander,” Anders replied with a wink.

Rodier reached out and poked the Lieutenant’s arm lightly, feeling the fabric of his shirt. “That was all, sir. Just wanted to make sure you’re actually here this time.” He stepped back with a satisfied smile, and continued with a glance at Lofton. “If the Commander won’t be joining…” he trailed off and took a step toward the door.

“Oh I can assure you, no holograms this time.” Kyle was also edging toward the door.

More confidently, Henry walked into the hall, taking a swig from his bottle as he did so. “Ready?” he asked, getting into a casual, slightly hunched running stance.

“Born ready.” Anders winked and before Rodier could count them in, bolted off and rounded the corner.

Man, he really likes to do that Henry thought, and took off in a near-sprint, rounding the corner to see the Lieutenant already a few yards ahead of him. Pushing himself a little harder, the Cadet started to catch up, but as they approached the end of the straightaway, he could feel that he wouldn’t be able to keep it up. “I guess this is a race, then” he called out.
