Madison can be seen standing by a corner of one of the many corridors on the ship. She is focused on a map of the ship on the data pad. She peered her blue sapphire eyes at the screen as she shifts through the map with her fingers. She says quietly to herself “Counselor’s Office. Where art thou?” She shifts the map up steadily until she finds her destination. “Ah, down the adjacent corridor, first left, and then second right, great.” She grins as she walks gracefully to the Counselor’s office holding her data pad in her right hand. She eventually reaches her journey’s end and walks through the moving doors. She gazes around the room observing the decor for a moment and then pivots off her back heel to face Lieutenant Commander Lofton the ship’s counselor. Madison immediately recognized her because she researched the counselor’s profile prior to their meeting today. A warm smile comes to her lips. “Commander Lofton. Cadet Marsh here for our scheduled appointment together.” Her accent indicated that she was most likely from Australia originally.

The doors opened to reveal a seating area filled by a large blue L-shaped sofa, sitting on a lighter but complementary shade of blue, against a darker blue wall. Hanging on the wall was a painting of a couple dancing on a wet beach, the man in a tuxedo and the woman in a red evening gown, a butler and maid nearby holding umbrellas and clutching headgear against an unseen wind.

Vanessa sat at a desk off to one side, a wooden skewer clutched in her mouth as she wound her black hair into a bun.

“Hnnh!” she said through her tightly closed mouth, before removing the skewer and smiling brightly. “Sorry. Hi!” She stuck the skewer through the bun and tested its hold before standing.

“You must be Madison,” she said, crossing the room and extending her hand. “Please call me Vanessa. Have a seat.” She gestured toward the sofa. “Would you like something to drink? I’m a hot chocolate fiend myself.”

OOC: Hi Matt! Welcome to your counselor thread. In here we will help you delve into your character’s motivations, desires, personality, and other stuff that can help flesh out your bio and make your character seem more real. I love the start you’ve already got on your bio!

As an aside, be careful mixing tenses as you did here. You switched from present to past a few times - we write using third person past tense. I’ve been enjoying your writing in other threads and can’t wait to learn more about Maddie!

Lt. Cmdr. Lofton - CNS
