OOC: Should I create a general structure for Kiasees to attempt to navigate or should I wait for it to be generated for me?

OOC: That’s a great question! It looks like our GM, Geoff, is being kept occupied by some non-STF issues, so he’s been slow in posting. We’ll wait for him to give us the details, but make sure that you are involved in one of our side sims in the mean time. :)

  • Sarah, CO

OOC: I blame work, but we can definitely transition some of the action into here.

Las was able to make her way into the ruins by way of a cleft in the facade. Once inside it was dark and damp, just like one would assume a set of ruins would be. On one side was a set of old broken electrical equipment. Possibly computers or communication devices, the decay of time visible over every surface not covered with rust. Along the inside walls were bundles of cables stretching up towards the ceiling through holes drilled after the fact and mounted using metal brackets, some holding conduit up by fate and fortune alone. Taped to the wall was a cassette, something from the Kirk era and a note that read simply “Watch me”.

OOC:No worries! I’ve been there.

IC: Picturing the space in the state of its prime was a struggle but with some effort Las recalled memories of past lives. None of the equipment appeared to be directly familiar, in fact during her last life the equipment present would still be considered dated at best. Yet a clear distinction between old and a little less old equipment were present. Could this be a case for two different civilizations?

The cassette…If playable within this structure, that would imply they left on a power source. Or if nothing else a power supply could potentially be functional within these walls. She aimed her tricorder towards the cables that weaved upwards.

-Cadet Las.

The cables were dead, or had been for a long time at least. Las’ scans showed that there was some serious corrosion within those cables but it was easy enough to map out where they went as it appeared most of them were tacked to the stone walls using conduits. Eventually the pulses made it up and to the antennas on the top. It didn’t take the engineer more than about 30 minutes to map out everything, what was science equipment what was coms, what was power and hab support.

She examined the cassette briefly and followed up by observing the equipment she’d previous taken count of to see if any looked to be capable of playing the cassette. After all, who was she to ignore the request to be seen?

Cadet Las

There was, in fact, a cassette reader against one wall, unpowered and covered with dust. Who knew if it worked, or at least if it would work without power, but then again who would know if no one tried?
