Cadet Whitfield walked towards the Sickbay, a barely-there confidence managing to remain as she did so. She wasn’t sure exactly how afraid to be, after all, she’d never had any extremely horrific experiences with doctors. Still, something kept her eyes on the floor as she walked, nervous about the meeting to come. If nothing else, she just hoped that there wasn’t anything wrong with her.

She buzzed the door and entered, pausing for a moment as she stood upright near the door. She wasn’t exactly sure who to see, but she’d hoped that it’d be more obvious if she actually looked.

Waiting for his patient to arrive, Aaron was on a chair, taking his blood pressure. When he gets out of bed this morning, his head was spinning, and he almost fell down. Strange, thought the doctor. My blood pressure is correct, as for my heartbeat. Maybe I’m overworking?
No, it can’t be that. I’ve just arrived at the Challenger for a month. Maybe it’s because of…

His thoughts were cut by the arrival of an engineering member, who seemed a bit nervous. Just like I did when I arrived, Aaron thought with a smile. He noticed that the cadet was searching for someone. Maybe it’s the cadet I’m supposed to handle.

He stood up and approached the woman. “Excuse me”, he said. “By any chance, are you Cadet Whitfield ?”

Cadet Aaron Williams

“Yes. Yes, sir!” Whitfield nodded quickly, correcting herself after speaking once. She wore a nervous smile which she was currently failing to conceal as she stood straight, approaching the doctor. As she approached, her nerves seemed to diminish slightly. She wasn’t sure if it was just that he wasn’t as terrifying as she’d imagined or if it was something else about him, but she felt less… intimidated. Maybe it was his smile that was helping things along a little.

“I’m supposed to be getting a physical, since I just arrived,” she explained, her expression and stance becoming more relaxed as she realised there wasn’t anything to worry about - at least, not yet. She wasn’t absolutely certain that she’d arrived at a convenient time, but now that she was here it would be difficult to ignore. “I hope I’m not intruding, I wasn’t sure when exactly to show up.”

She had her own ideas of what a physical might be like and while it felt almost childish to be worried about what’s to come, the examination to come brought forth ideas of medical issues that not even she knew about. Of course, it was nothing but her imagination but it was worrying nonetheless.

“No problem!”, said Aaron with a smile. “And don’t call me sir, we’re both Cadets. But if you really want to give me an appellation, just call me Doc.” He then offers his hand to Olive: “The name’s Aaron Williams. Nice to meet you !”

He then shows a bed: “I’ll let you go to biobed 3. Just sit on it, I’ll arrive in a moment.” The doctor walks away, grabs a PaDD, and puts on his medical coat. She seems better, he thought. Where did I put… Ah! Here they are. Grabbing his glasses, he put them on his nose and began to open Olive’s medical record. Let’s see what we got here.
