WantsToGolf’s big, wide, green eyes blinked at d’Qorvos, leading to the watery build-up in them spilling down her fair cheeks. Her lower lip, pinkened in her upset, snuck out slightly as she looked at the young security cadet and whimpered pathetically.

The tricorder scan was basic, but it would reveal that she had managed to seriously fracture her ankle when she had tripped over the tribble. It wasn’t dangerous, per se, but she was likely in quite a bit of pain.

=^= Holodeck 1, this is Engineering. I’m sending someone your way and will be seeing to the transporters. Can you confirm if the tribbles are isolated to your location or have they migrated?=^=

Lt. jg Dael Stadi, Chief Engineer (cross post)

”=/\= Anders to Rodier and d’Qorvos, any luck with getting off the holodeck gentlemen? =/\=” The voice of the Security Chief now joined the Chief Engineer on the comm channel.

-Lieutenant Kyle Anders: Chief of Security- (Cross-Post)

”=^= Rodier to Anders, we’re still here. Something must be up with the transporters. =^=” he paused off before answering the question from Engineering, instead looking at Cadet d’Qorvos, the tricorder still in his hand. Henry wasn’t one to try to answer a question better answered by someone else, especially when he had no real idea of how to answer it himself. “Benem, is that scan you ran still up-to-date?”

OOC: I don’t recall if the GM confirmed the location(s) of the Tribbles, but regardless Henry doesn’t know.

OOC: No more tribbles have appeared and they are in their original location except for the one on the COS’ head in Sickbay.

The voice of the COS rejoined the conversation, “=/\= Anders to Rodier, any luck lad? =/\=”

-Lieutenant Kyle Anders: Chief of Security-

When she looked up at Ben, her lip quivering, Ben almost faltered, unsure if he should keep talking. “Ouch, looks like you have a fracture,” he said, trying out his best bedside manner, though it probably left much to be desired. “I’m amazed you’re holding it in so well. If I were you I’d be rolling around screaming bloody murder to tribbles.” He heard the Chief of Security and Engineering speak through comms and let Rody reply. Instead he turned back to his patient, “See? They’re already sending someone down here… we’ll have you in sickbay in no time. I’ll be back in a moment.”

The Cadet then stood and walked over to Rodier, opening his tricorder once more and returning to his previous readings. “Looks like we have five here on the holodeck. When I did the original sweep on my way down here I picked up nine, though,” he told his companion. “You should go ahead and tell them that we have five here, four unaccounted for. We speak with one voice,” Ben grinned and then changed his inflection, adding in a robotic tone, “Like the Borg.”

-Cadet d’Qorvos [Sec]

Henry’s eyes widened, but he only said “Ye… yeah, I’m on it.” Tapping his combadge again, he replied to Engineering first, followed by his Department Head. “=^= Rodier to Engineering, scans show five Tribbles in Holodeck 1, with an additional four unaccounted for. I think I saw one on Lieutenant Anders’ head when he beamed out, but the statuses of the other three are wholly unknown. =^=”

Taking a breath, he continued. “=^= Rodier to Anders, Engineering’s sending someone up, I’ll update you when they update me, sir. =^=” Turning back to Benem, he asked “Ben, you think there’s anything we can do from here? We could try to jimmy the door open, but…” he trailed off, lost in thought.

“Good idea,” Benem answered, giving Rodier a confident smile. “It looks like the arch is still here, so not everything is lost. Maybe I can access one of the panels and scan it with my tricorder.”

After that he would have to rely on his unreliable technical skills, and while he could take apart and put together an engine and re route phasers through auxiliary components on a shuttle, he knew next to nothing about the inner workings of a holodeck, and had heard enough horror stories about them to know better than to start screwing around inside their systems. Wait, hadn’t he gone over something like this at the Academy? If he remembered correctly, there should be some sort of emergency panel for situations like this.

“Maybe that Engineer will get here and be able to help from the other side,” he added, trying to sound hopefully. He glanced over to WantsToGolf, then back to Rody, “Want to try and make her a splint while I wave my wizard wand,” he moved the detachable part of the tricorder up and down and side to side and in a circle a few times, “and try to get us out of Tribble Hell?”

Benem made his way over to the arch, scanning the holodeck’s entry for any anomalies and and for an access port. While he made his way over, he nudged a tribble out of the way with a foot.

-Cadet d’Qorvos [Sec]

”=/\= Acknowledged, I’m going to look to see if there are any more tribbles around the ship, let me know as soon as you learn anything. Anders out. =/\=”

-Lieutenant Kyle Anders: Chief of Security- (Crosspost)

The tricorder scan revealed that apparently the tribbles had gotten a little hungry in their state and nibbled on some of the inner workings of the holodeck systems. It would be a challenging repair for someone without engineering skill, but it was doable, particularly with some support from engineering on the topic. The tribble that d’Quorvos had nudged out of the way seemed to find a deep affection for his foot and clung to it as he tried to complete his task.

Rodier made his way over to WantsToGolf, taking a roll of gauze from a pack on his hip. “Cadet, I’m going to try to wrap your ankle as best I can. Just hang in there.” Much as he was putting on a calm face, mentally, all he could think was where the hell is Engineering? Are the turbolifts broken, too?
