Dael came walking into Engineering from the turbolift. He’d just been finalizing the overview of structures on Deck 6 for the refugee area in the Cargo Bays, as well as the overflow possibility to the Mess and Shuttlebay. He hoped Sickbay and Security would have an easier time of it with everything focused in that area and with Sickbay nearby, but it all depended on too many variables. He didn’t care for that many possibilities that he couldn’t account for, especially not knowing how long they’d be on the ship for, but he was doing his best to make do with what he had. As he rounded the corner, he heard his communicator beep.

=/\= Bridge to Lieutenant Stadi. Scan results should be coming to Main Engineering as we speak. =/\=

=^= Understood Captain, I’ll let you know as soon as we find anything.=^=

The Betazoid turned to the main console and watched the scan results come through. It looked like some damage had occurred at the colony site, but he couldn’t get a clear picture as of yet. That annoyed him, he liked dealing with all the facts at hand up front. Especially if that damage could somehow make it to his ship.

“Computer, run an analysis on the structural damage in these scans. Possible causes?”

As that compiled he sent his mind out to find Cadet Washburne in his mental wavescape of Engineering. Finding the cadet, he turned towards his direction. “Cadet Washburne, any news on your modifications? It looks like we’ve got some damage down there and may have to get these people out of there faster than we’d expect.”

The computer listed the possible causes by the highest probability to lowest. They were the bases main power source detonating, orbital bombardment by a starship, flora or fauna that could explode running through the colony, or a very concerted effort by a group of people to break things by hand.

GM Madness

As he waited for the report from his cadet, Dael took a quick scan of the results from the analysis. Fantastic, looks like they’re in even more rough shape than expected. If it had been the power source, maybe it had left radiation signatures. Which would likely interfere with transporters. I thought the logistics of them on board was going to be the issue, not actually getting them to the ship.
“Computer, is there any leftover radiation or interference from the damage that might affect our transporter lock systems? If so, please identify.” Maybe they could make some modifications if that proved to be the case. While the computer processed his request, he tapped his commbadge.

=^= Stadi to Bridge, we’ve analyzed the damage to the colonies structures. The two most likely scenarios are that the base’s main power source exploded, or a ship opened fire on the colony, in that order. Working right now to see if there’s any interference we’ll need to work through from the damage for evacuation procedures.=^=

With that last comment he looked over at Washburne. “Looks like things are going to be even more interesting than we had hoped. I hate that.”
