“Initiate the transport,” Emmy instructed, and then tapped her comm badge:

=/\= Bridge to All Hands. The transport is now initiating. Man your stations and do not enter the Cargo Bay until you receive clearance. =/\=

Feeling slight twinges of anxiety, she looked to the others stationed on the Bridge. “Check the force fields and make sure they will hold containment. Be ready to initiate deep scans as soon as transport is confirmed successful.”

She caught her lower lip under her top teeth and pressed down gently until she felt the twinges of pain. She knew that the transport, even with the risks that it entailed, was the right decision over arranging an away mission, but it still felt like a big risk.

Alison sat back in her chair, now just to see what the colonists had to say. But maybe there was still something out there to find. Leaning back forward she went back to trying to locate the communication satellite, to see if there was anything still in the buffer.

Lt Barr - CSO

Emmy shifted this way and that, feeling like hours or even days had gone by without any notice from the Cargo Bay that the transport was successful and that they had begun the process of ensuring that the colonists were safe to allow out of the room.

OOC: Classic Wrath of Kahn quote would fit that well. “Spock : Admiral, if we go “by the book”. like Lieutenant Saavik, hours could seem like days.”

The transport was initiated and 55 bio signs were deposited into the cargo bay with the forcefields in place and holding strong.

GM Madness

=^= Rodier to all Security personnel, enact Procedure E-3, Cargo Bay 1. Rodier to Bridge, colonists under attack by unknown creatures. Engaging with your permission. =^= There was a clear tension in Henry’s voice, indicating haste.

~ Lt. jr. gr. Rodier - COS

Alison had to stop herself from cursing out loud, this was exactly what she was afraid of.

“Putting the feed from the cargo bay up on the screen Captain,” she said as she put the video feed from the internal sensors up on the viewscreen.

Lt Barr - CSO

Emmy’s lips were firmly pressed together as she heard the report from the Chief of Security. The edges ticked up briefly in appreciation of the CSO putting the video feed onto the screen and she threw herself to her feet in front of her chair on the Bridge, studying the feed on the screen in front of her with her hands firmly planted on her hips.

On the screen was shown a cluster of people, a little over forty, while three colonists were separated from the group and likely dead because of the pools of blood and grotesque injuries. Another two were feebly protecting their vital areas but were still alive for the moment. A last was thrashing and kicking quite spiritedly against one of the creatures that was dragging her away from the large group.

In the time it took the COS to ask permission to engage the threat, one of the feeble colonists died under a creature’s attack. Another pool of blood began to form under their cooling body. A fresh wave of screams came from the group of colonists. The one being dragged away was able to land a solid kick against her abductor’s head though and got free. She scrambled on hands and knees back towards the safety of the group but her assailant roared in rage after recovering from the blow and moved to catch her.

GM Madness

It only took milliseconds for Emmy to process the scene in front of her and the simple one word response flew out of her mouth as quickly as possible after that:

=/\= Engage. =/\=

She turned to the CSO. “Can we get a transporter lock on the injured colonists?” she questioned. In order to get them immediate medical care, particularly as deep care as they would need, it would be expeditious to simply transport them to Sickbay.

=/\= Bridge to O’Connell. We are attempting to get a lock on the colonists’ life signs to prepare them to transport directly to Sickbay. We will transport you and the other medical providers at the same time. =/\=
