Hello Challenger crew!

Thank you for bearing with us as we get through this unexpected transition period. Nathan has had such an impact on the ship during his time as Counselor and then as Executive Officer and he will very much be missed. Our thoughts will be with him as he navigates the personal life challenges that COVID have caused and there will always be a home for him here when he’s ready to return to the ship.

When I needed to fill such big shoes, there was one person who immediately came to mind. Everyone, please welcome Steve Johnson as Executive Officer. He broke me in as Commanding Officer a couple of years ago and it will be a joy to have him back on the ship in that capacity!

Finally, a big thank you to Matt Evans for his fantastic sim over the past few months. Unfortunately, he has chosen to step down and his creativity and trouble-making (a quality expected of all GMs, of course) will be missed. Please welcome Geoff Joosten back as our Gamemaster for the next sim. Geoff is practically synonymous with the Challenger to me and I know he has a great sim up his sleeve.

P.S. With the end of the previous sim, I’ll be removing outgoing DHs here after I post this. Incoming DHs, please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions about your responsibilities!

P.P.S. I’m shifting to a new CO character for the next sim. Don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere. :)

Welcome, Steve - I only joined in March so I haven’t ‘met’ you yet! Welcome back to Geoff and thanks again to Nathan and Matt for all your hard work in making Challenger a supportive place to write.
