“Good job everyone. Cadet Javal, you should probably head down and check on those engineers we transported out of here. We are going to need to figure out what made them react the way they did. Cadet Kleine, I think we are secure here at the moment. Mind going with the Cadet to make sure they don’t stir up anymore trouble while they are getting examined? And Lt Stadi, how are the ships systems? Because it’s getting a little cold in here, and I don’t think the transporter typically transports out heat…”

Javal swiveled his head over as he assisted Dael to his feet.

“Yes Commander, I had a mind to do the same thing. The security cadet’s proposal of a viral agent or perhaps even a telepathic disturbance is not entirely out of the question. It appears as if some form of mass psychosis has affect Lieutenant Stadi’s crew, and the possibility also exists that this affliction may have spread or even originated beyond the bounds of the engineering section. Rest assured, sir, that I will begin my examination of the affected individuals posthaste.”

‘Yes sir, one thing we beamed them to another deck what if now it spreads to that deck then we have more chaos.’

Javal turned to address Cadet Kleine’s concerns.

“That may be a possibility, but we must trust that Cadet Hobbes transported the affected crewmen to a reasonably secure position. That being said, I must note that we have all already been exposed to the affected individuals, which means that if we ourselves have not already succumbed to the psychosis, then we must assume that we are all either immune to the effect or it has yet to arise in us.”

He turned to face the two medical Ensigns that accompanied him to Main Engineering, who at this point seemed a tad concerned by the Vulcan doctor’s suggestion.

“NE Lister, please remain in Main Engineering and attend to the injured where needed. Report in to me if any new abnormalities should arise.”

NE Lister made a sheepish nod, but resolved himself to take upon the responsibility.

Nodding back at NE Lister, Javal tapped his combadge.

=^= “Cadet Javal to Dr. Ven. The medical team has successfully reached Main Engineering and had made contact with Chief Engineer Stadi. A large melee had erupted within the bounds of Main Engineering among Lt. Stadi’s crew, the cause of which is currently unknown. The affected crewmen were transported to an auxiliary cargobay by Engineering Cadet Hobbes, and I have received orders from Commander Foley to exam those individuals. I have attached NE Lister to see to the wounded in Main Engineering and to coordinate relief efforts with Sickbay while I head down to the cargo bay with NE Syme and Security Cadet Kleine.” =^=

He then turned over to NE Syme and Cadet Kleine.

“NE Syme, you will be accompanying me and Cadet Kleine to the secure location that Cadet Hobbes transported the affected crewmen. Sedatives and phasers set to a moderate stun setting should be prepared in case further aggression is observed,” Javal said, glancing carefully at the two.

=^= Thank you for the update, Cadet. Remember you can beam anyone with serious injuries directly to Sickbay. If you need more medical staff once you get to the cargo bay, let me know. In the meantime, I’ll send another cadet to Main Engineering to help Lister. Ven out. =^=

A few minutes later, NC Fleming hurried into Engineering and made his way to NE Lister, both ready to deal with any casualties.

A small nod from Henry, and NC Mercury responded, “Aye, on your lead, Kleine,” and began following the group.

Javal nodded once he heard Kleine’s assent, and observing that NC Fleming had arrived to back up NE Lister, he motioned to the response team to follow him to the turbolift.

Katie’s commbadge chirped as Javal’s voice entered her position in EPS control.

”=^= Cadet Javal to Cadet Hobbes. Be advised that we have assembled a team from the response in Main Engineering and have made our way to Deck 13 to examine the crewmen that you have transported. Be prepared to lock down the area in case any of the affected crewmen attempt an escape. =^=”
