Katie quickly reviewed the schematics for the locations of the forcefield projectors in the area of the auxiliary cargo bay and frowned.

“Not good. Not good. There is one in corridor 475-D that is scheduled for maintenance so there will be a gap in the coverage,” Katie said to herself. She took a deep breath and tapped her communicator badge. “=^= Hobbes to security. Be aware that there is a gap in the security forcefield in corridor 475-D. If any of our rioters were to get out of the auxiliary cargo bay and found that gap they would have free access to most of deck 13.”

=/\= Cadet Katherine Hobbes - Engineer

=^= Can you fix it?=^= He tapps on his combadge again. =^= Kleine to NC Turner and NC Lawrence can you two go to corridor 475-D on deck 13,There is a gap in the forcefield there and if anyone who riots gets their they can go on the entire deck.=^= Jordy says to Javal. ‘We cant let anyone of them out of here because there is a gap in the forcefield on corridor 475-D and if they get through there they can go on the entire deck.’

Cadet Jordy Kleine - Security

“Understood Kleine,” Javal replied. “Make sure the exit is well guarded. We could attempt a quick exfiltration from the area and seal the door behind us in case they get too close.”

As he was talking, he could begin to feel the effects of the artificial gravity’s absence beginning to kick in. His feet began to lift off of the ground and soon he was levitating a few feet off of the deck floor.

“Well, examining the affected crew like this is sure to be an interesting exercise of my medical training,” he said, hovering a bit uncontrollably a few feet off of the ground. “Steady yourself now!”

(OOC: Ready to fly Jordy? :D)

[Cadet Javal - doctor]

Katie shook her head as she reviewed the work-order.

=^= Hobbes to Security. That’s a negative on fixing the forcefield projector remotely. The projector itself has to be replaced and that can only be done on site. I’m reviewing options for a second level of containment but I strongly suggest not letting any of them out of the cargo bay. =^=

Katie furrowed her brow. Were there still some of the rioters in Engineering?

=/\= Cadet Katherine Hobbes, Engineering =/\=

OOC: I am fine with if, but a couple of things to keep in mind here, first don’t give GMs a complication unless you want us to exploit it, meaning you just gave yourself a weak point and it would be well within my realm of possibility to exploit it and give Hobbs and Klein a really bad day. Second, some GMs take umbrage at making things worse.

Just food for thought. Nothing to void here, carry on.

(OOC: Heads up to Cadet Hobbes and our other fine crew, I’m starting a separate thread for the Engineering efforts, that way we help free this post up a little bit from having so many players and gets everyone used to cross-posting as well!)
-Lt. jg Dael Stadi, CE

(OOC: I hope im ready.)

IC: =^= Understood.=^=

‘Never thought i was going to fly in my career!’ He said laughing, Jordy looks at Javal and says ‘Are you examining them alreay.’ =^= Kleine to Rodier we are at the cargo bay flying i got 2 security officers with me in here 2 guarding the enterance and 2 at a forcefield where a gap is in i think Javal is examining the people who riot.=^=

Cadet Jordy Kleine - Security

=^= Copy, Kleine. Use caution. =^=

~ Lt. jr. gr. Rodier - CoS

“Negative Kleine, I’ve yet to reach them. We still do not know if they will try to attack if we get too close,” Javal said with some difficulty. At this point he was turning almost completely inverted.

He strained to look over at one of the crewman floating helplessly in the cargo hold.

“You there, Crewman! Can you hear me?” he called out to one of them. It was best to test whether they even acknowledged discourse at all before continuing, Javal thought.

[Cadet Javal - doctor]

=^= Ven to Javal, Fleming, Lister and Syme. It seems that a food-borne pathogen may be causing the illness that’s affecting some crew members. It doesn’t look like it’s airborne, but exercise extreme caution just in case. If you can talk to any of your patients, see if they’ve eaten any grapok sauce recently and ask them where it came from. Report back to me with any new information. Ven out. =^=

[Lieutenant JG Ven Miya, CMO - cross-post]

Security NE Zumwalt walked in wearing a pair of mag boots and looked up at the two cadets floating in space among the isolated infected engineers. The man just shook his head as he remained firmly secured to the floor, eating a bag of salted peanuts as he watched. “Cadets,” he grumbled under his breath before standing watch at the door to the cargo bay.

GM Wombat

Jordy lookes at the security officer. ‘Can you leave the area if you will not help,if you wanna help do the peanuts away and come here.’

Cadet Jordy Kleine - Security

Javal noticed the strange antics of the security officer that had just walked into the cargo bay. Why was he in mag boots? And why was he acting in such a casual manner? While non-Vulcans certainly were capable of making unpredictably illogical decisions, this particular case was all the more egregious, he thought to himself.

“Kleine, is this man part of your security detachment?” Javal asked.

[Cadet Javal - doctor]

‘No he is not, maybe Lieutenant Rodier called him here. ‘ Jordy said to Javal, Jordy looks at the security officer and says. ‘Did Lieutenant Rodier send you.’\

Cadet Jordy Kleine - Security

The NE popped another peanut in his mouth as he watched the two cadets. Narrowing his eyes slightly he asked, “Better questions in why you two are floating around like first day to zero grav training.” He shook his head slowly then ate another peanut, “My orders is to make sure the drunk and dis-orderlies there don’t get out and start roving gang wars.”

GM Wombat

OOC: this doesn’t necessarily apply to you, but you would still receive it, so I figured I’d crosspost it.

IC:
=^= Rodier to all unassigned Security officers. We are enforcing an unarmed movement ban on all non-essential personnel. Two-officer teams will rotate between their decks. If you encounter hostility, back off and call for help - do not engage. Rodier out. =^=

~ Lt. jr. gr. Rodier - CoS (crosspost)

Jordy taps on his commbadge.=^=Kleine to Rodier did you sent a officer to the cargo bay the officer says he has orders to make sure the drunk and dis-ordelies don’t get out and start roving gang wars, but he is eating peanuts and wearing mag boots.=^=

Cadet Jordy Kleine - Security

OOC: Ya’ll are really focusing on the wrong part of this NPC. His whole purpose in life was to gently remind you that there is no logical need for you to be floating around the cargo bay. Don’t make this a bigger deal than it needs to be. :D

IC: The ensign shrugged and leaned next to the door. “Y’all wanna float through the air like idiots that ain’t my problem,” he grumbled as he ate some more peanuts, finishing the package and stuffing the empty bag in his pocket, “You do you cadets. I got work to do.”

GM Wombat

=^= Rodier to Kleine, another officer was sent your way. I don’t know his eating habits, but I surely hope he’s wearing boots. Unless he’s aggressive, he’s not a threat. =^=

~ Lt. jr. gr. Rodier - CoS

OOC: Well, to be fair, chronologically speaking, we went in technically not knowing the artificial grav was actually off until after Hobbes’ writer told us in the past (according to the RP), but by that point, we had already been writing our activities in the cargo bay.

IC:

Javal raised an eyebrow at the testy security officer in magboots while he floated above him.

“I suppose it was an oversight for us to not prepare sufficiently for the anti-gravity environment, Ensign. Would you be able to prepare a couple more for myself and Mr. Kleine?”

While the sight of the man with the proper equipment might have been embarrassing to any ordinary cadet, Javal was only fazed in the illogic of not paying closer attention to Cadet Hobbes’ warning before they entered.

[Cadet Javal - doctor]

OOC: Happens to the best of us! Don’t sweat it.

IC: The NE motioned towards the panel labeled “Emergency” before walking over and opening it. Inside was the standard space suits and mag boots that are used when doing space walks or entering environments that require such things. With a daft motion he pulled out one of the duffle bags and gently pushed it up towards Javal. “Catch, though I would recommend, ya know, pushing off against something to get yourself closer to the ground before you turn the boots on. Don’t want to get pulled down like, 10 meters.” He chuckled slightly before turning his attention to the engineers suspended in their own little cells. Most of them had calmed down but were still sweating profusely, occasionally shivering from fever. A few had vomited in their “cell” and at least one was still trying her best to get out by ramming herself repeatedly against the force field, oblivious to the pain.

GM Wombat

‘Javal you have a pair for me to?’ Jordy asked still floating around.
