=^=Always try to be, the universe always seems to have different plans.=^= he replied with a grin, regaining his composure a bit after his near exit of the ship. =^= As for a team, that’ll be difficult considering this deck is still venting to space. I’m seeing what I can do though and will let you know.=^=

Reluctantly sitting back down in said captain’s chair, he pressed his hand on the armrest, activating the full-ship comm. =^= Attention all Medical and Security personnel: triage protocol. Form two-person teams and evacuate all injured crew to Sickbay. Do not treat anyone on-site unless absolutely necessary. Use transporters as necessary. =^=

He released his hand, as well as a gust of air from his lips. Talking to his department was one thing, but the whole ship was a bit of a stressor on anyone. =^= Bridge to Williams, we’re in a charged asteroid field. Try to find out where these damn things came from, and how we can stop them. =^=

And finally, he looked down at the bridge itself. “Tactical, target all objects on a potential collision course with us. Hold fire on my order.” With that, Rodier collapsed backward into the seat, finally allowing himself to breathe.

OOC: If the GM would please let me know if Henry’s overstepping, that would be much appreciated. Just trying to get people doing things haha
~ Lt. jr. gr. Rodier - CoS

OOC: Acting as if he has the conn, is not my department? That is between you and the CO/XO, however my opinion is it is fine.

OOC: also if the GM could let us know what the problem actually is because obviously kalos wants it to be a simple power issue but what if it is more, I cant make that call I dont think?

OOC: Oh I will. Good job guessing though!

Kalos tried to bypass what appeared to just be damaged power distribution nodes Kalos attempted to solve the problem but cursed profusely when his console gave out an angry chirp. “I think we may be looking at a much larger scale problem here, there doesn’t appear to be any major damage to the emitters, but the power distribution network is totally shot. relays on deck eight seem to have blown out in my attempts to bypass the main control center here on the bridge. I think the problem is not actually with the power distribution network itself, but with the computer processes that control the whole thing, probably as a result of the charge of the asteroids making contact with the bare hull.”

OOC: hope I didn’t break any rules, again still my first sim so thanks for being patient.

-Cadet Kalos Onovren, Engineer

Aaron finally made it to the bridge, stepping off the turbolift while still holding a cloth to the side of his head. He had been in his quarters when the ship suddenly struck, and had been thrown across the room. It had taken him a couple of minutes to get his head to stop ringing, and then longer to get a turbolift.

“Report! What’s the status of the ship? And has anyone heard from the Captain yet?”

Pulling the cloth away he gently touched his head, there was still a bit of fresh blood, but it seemed to be easing up. He silently cursed head wounds, always came with so much blood.

Cmdr. Foley - XO
Kalos tapped his commbadge right as Commander Foley walked out onto the bridge:
=^= Mr. Stadi, I have tried rerouting power around the damaged areas using the battle bridge command functions, since you are there, but found that the problem seems to not actually be a power distribution problem but with the computer programs that control the whole system, that could also explain why the emergency forcefields aren’t working either,=^=
trying not to let the tension and emotions of everyone else overwhelm him, Kalos paused,
=^= I expect that other ship systems will behave erratically until the computer function has been restored, but I don’t know if there is much else I can do from the bridge. what do you want me to do?=^=

-Cadet Kalos Onovren, Engineer

=^=Cadet, so you’re saying that power is getting to the area but the computer won’t register that it needs to cut the emergency forcefields on?=^= Dael said, wishing the Battle Bridge had an engineering console beyond Ops, and making a mental note to make that change once this was over. =^=Run a diagnostic on the the computer core and the subprocessors in the optical data network. Looking at the Ops console it looks like Deck 9 got hit, which could’ve damaged the lower computer core. If it did, it may be why these breaches aren’t being contained.=^=

-Lt. jg Dael Stadi, CE (cross-post)

=^=That seems to be the problem, yes. please standby while I run the diagnostic, this shouldn’t take long.=^=
Quickly running the diagnostic of the computer core Kalos was surprised with what he found
=^=It looks like the subspace field systems were damaged in the impact, the computer lost its FTL processing capabilities when the subspace field went offline meaning it cant keep up with all of its tasks. The computer itself wasn’t damaged just the subspace field so the upper core hasn’t taken over control of all ship functions.=^=
Kalos made a mental note to talk to Stadi about creating a manual override to transfer computer control away from a damaged computer core.
=^=It wouldn’t actually be hard for me to fix, especially with an extra set of hands. Unfortunately, I cant get to that section easily because all of the surrounding areas have vented to space. And with the Computer functions all messed up I don’t dare risk the transporter. But if I take an EV suit I could could probably make it to the subspace field systems control room.=^=

-Kalos Onovren, Engineer

=/\=NE Tender to Bridge, yeah cadet, Chief, found out why the computer is sending you that error code… And I wouldn’t trust anything the computer tells you right now. Turns out when half of the circuits on a deck are just missing and the other half are oversaturated with whatever energy those rocks are charged with… Well turns out the computer thinks the circuit is open when it is physically shorted. Most of the sensors are blown to Mars. Need to actually probably cut all power to these decks and go for a walk. =/\= A high pitched voice interrupted the conversation for Onovren and Stadi to actually explain what was going on.

The ops station looked up at Rodier to see if he was going to report out to the XO or not before turning back to her work tapping up status on all decks. Weapons finally reported in, “Forward phasors operational. I have a lock on the biggest rocks but it it will be slow going to target, track, and vaporize anything bigger than a pea… Sir.”

GM Wombat

Henry turned at the sound of Aaron’s voice, his superior’s presence simultaneously relieving and a wee bit anxiety-inducing. “Commander. Multiple impacts to Decks 7, 8 and 9, as well as a hull breach on Deck 8. Injuries and casualties reported on all levels. Shields ineffective, computer malfunctioning, limited range of movement.” The CoS let all that info spew out with barely a breath interrupting him. He hoped his clipped language didn’t leave anything unclear, as had sometimes been the case in the Academy.

Also while he spoke, Rodier rose from his seat, coming around the side near the secondary tactical station to allow the XO to take command. “And… I’ve been unable to reach the Captain, sir.”

~ Lt. jr. gr. Roder - CoS

Aaron cursed under his breath, there was only so much that they could do though. “Get a security team to check the Captain’s quarters, if we haven’t heard from her yet she’s probably injured somewhere. However, the Captain would be the first to say that the ship and the crew come first. Get the rest of your security teams out around the ship, helping to transport injured crew. I want every crew member accounted for.”

Stepping down from where the turbolift, Aaron made his way to the center of the bridge.

“Tactical just keep as many of the bigger rocks off of our hull until we get shields back online.”

=^= Foley to Stadi. I sure hope you’ve got some good news for us Chief. =^=

Cmdr. Foley - XO

=^= Not as much as I’d like to Commander, we’ve got damage on decks 7, 8 and 9. I’m dispatching teams to deal with decks 7 and 9.=^= He said into his commbadge while tapping away at the ops panel and sending his orders to the repair teams. Hopefully they were in much better shape than he was to get to problems. =^=There’s a hull breach on deck 8 that almost took me with it, but I got lucky and was able to get my way to safety. In the Battle Bridge right now, working to co-ordinate repair efforts. Force-fields are not coming up stable to seal the breach. Cadet Onovren and I are currently working on containment options.=^=

Stepping out of the turbolift, Aaron and NE Stevens felt a wave of panic coming from the bridge officers. When Aaron nodded at him, NE Stevens quickly goes toward the nearest science station to finish the deflectors calibration and wait for the Lieutenant signal to confirm the modifications. As for Aaron, he walked toward Rodier and Fooley, who were probably making the point on the situation.

“They’ve already been dispatched, sir,” Henry replied. “Diverting a team to fetch the Captain now.” The Chief continued up to the secondary Tactical station - he had no plans to take over for the primary Ops officer, who he accepted was much more capable at that position than he could be. But he did speak quietly to the secondary officer, “You’re relieved, NE Kyos. Take NCs Jills and Pin, check on the Captain and report back.”

As Kyos’s distinctive heavy footsteps tromped away, her right hand already reaching for her commbadge, Henry took up a position at her now-vacated station - mostly so he could more effectively advise the XO. With everything urgent seemingly being taken care of to the best of the ship and crew’s capability, Rodier tapped his badge one final time, keeping his voice low and one eye on the blood coming from his CO’s head. =^= Rodier to Sickbay, once things have calmed down send a doctor to the Bridge. =^=

OOC: I’m not sure how to RP checking for the Captain, but there’s a team of 3 headed to his/her quarters.
~ Lt. jr. gr. Rodier - CoS
Watching the NEs leaving the bridge, Aaron did notice the absence of the CO, which was worrying in a period of crisis. As much as he wanted to ask Foley about the Captain’s situation, he knew he was as clueless as him, and how frustrating can it be.

Approaching the two officers, Aaron spoke up: “Commander, I think I have good news. We may have found a solution to deal with the asteroids.”

Lieutenant JG Aaron Williams - CSO

=^=Onovren to Stadi, NE Tender has eyes on the problem, we think we can fix the damaged subspace field and restore computer control. Permission to cut power to deck eight and go for a walk?=^=

-Kalos Onovren, Engineer

=^=Permission granted, most crew should have evacuated this deck unless they got stuck like I am. Make sure to leave emergency power on, I want to still be able to coordinate from my location on the Battle Bridge and that should allow that. Plus we’ve got Life Support and Environmentals on this deck and I’d rather not lose those right now. Take a team in EVAs just in case and see what you can do about it, sounds like a patch and replace job for the damaged conduits. Probably have damaged subprocessors in the core too. I’ll work on co-ordinating you and the teams, just get the holes in my ship to close.=^=
