=/\=NE Tender to Bridge, yeah cadet, Chief, found out why the computer is sending you that error code… And I wouldn’t trust anything the computer tells you right now. Turns out when half of the circuits on a deck are just missing and the other half are oversaturated with whatever energy those rocks are charged with… Well turns out the computer thinks the circuit is open when it is physically shorted. Most of the sensors are blown to Mars. Need to actually probably cut all power to these decks and go for a walk. =/\= A high pitched voice interrupted the conversation for Onovren and Stadi to actually explain what was going on.

GM Wombat

OOC: I am a little confused here, I think I know what is going on but a little clarification would be awesome! First, what does NE mean. Second, where is this Tender. And finally, what systems are they talking about? thanks for the help

-Mason

OOC: NE stands for Nameless Ensign, they are the NPCs that anyone can use to do things that require a second set of hands. Redshirts doomed to die kind of thing. If I, the GM, needs to have someone do something I’ll use an NE, but if you need some non-PC friends you are are more than welcome to create your own NEs to help. Technically in the Academy you could also have NCs Nameless Cadets.

When you get a lot of NEs people like to name them silly things like one infamous Medical NE is Dr. Seth O’Scope.

NE Tender would be on deck 8 at the site of the actual hole.

This would be the EPS/Power systems. the plasma is piped around the ship like water and at specific locations it is turned to electricity and functions normally. In short, all of the magic smoke has been let out.

=^= Foley to Stadi. I sure hope you’ve got some good news for us Chief. =^=

Cmdr. Foley - XO (Crosspost)

=^= Not as much as I’d like to Commander, we’ve got damage on decks 7, 8 and 9. I’m dispatching teams to deal with decks 7 and 9.=^= He said into his commbadge while tapping away at the ops panel and sending his orders to the repair teams. Hopefully they were in much better shape than he was to get to problems. =^=There’s a hull breach on deck 8 that almost took me with it, but I got lucky and was able to get my way to safety. In the Battle Bridge right now, working to co-ordinate repair efforts. Force-fields are not coming up stable to seal the breach. Cadet Onovren and I are currently working on containment options.=^=

GM Wombat

=^=Onovren to Stadi, NE Tender has eyes on the problem, we think we can fix the damaged subspace field and restore computer control. Permission to cut power to deck eight and go for a walk?=^=

-Kalos Onovren, Engineer (Comms from deck 01)

=^=Permission granted, most crew should have evacuated this deck unless they got stuck like I am. Make sure to leave emergency power on, I want to still be able to coordinate from my location on the Battle Bridge and that should allow that. Plus we’ve got Life Support and Environmentals on this deck and I’d rather not lose those right now. Take a team in EVAs just in case and see what you can do about it, sounds like a patch and replace job for the damaged conduits. Probably have damaged subprocessors in the core too. I’ll work on co-ordinating you and the teams, just get the holes in my ship to close.=^=

With that Dael went back to his Ops panel, pulling up his list of repair crews. He hoped they’d be able to get to the damaged systems, since he was hesitant to try and emergency transport himself anywhere in the ship’s state. There may be some EVA suits in the Battle Bridge, but he’d check that in a moment, he had to work on damage control and mitigation right now.

=^= Computer, pull up full damage report list for the Challenger. I want to see a detailed list organized by damage severity and impact to ship systems. It’s time to do some engineering triage=^=

-Lt. jg Dael Stadi, CE

=^= Understood Lieutenant. Do what you need to do to stabilize the ship, and get shields back online. Keep me informed of your progress. =^=

Cmdr. Foley - XO (Crosspost)

=^=Will do sir.=^= Dael said with a sigh, waiting for the computer to give him the full damage report on his Ops console. He had found a nearby PADD to transfer the data to in preparation for the power to be cut to all non-essentials on the deck. It wasn’t the best way to see how things were going on the ship, but from his stranded position, it was what he had to work with.

=^=Onovren to Stadi, I have arrived on deck 8 with NE Tender, we are ready to cut main power and we are suiting up for our walk.=^=

-Cadet Kalos Onovren, Engineer (comms from somewhere else on deck eight)

=^= Understood Cadet, making sure all essential systems on the deck are still recieving emergency power…=^= he said with a quick flicker of his fingers on the console. =^= Alright, we should be good to go, I’ll be a comm channel away if you need me. And Kalos, be careful.=^=

-Lt. jg Dael Stadi, CE

=^= Foley to Stadi. What’s the chances that you would be able to give me a transporter room? =^=

Cmdr. Foley - XO (crosspost)

At hearing the Commander’s comm, Dael walked across the darkened Battle Bridge towards the needed console. He’d made sure he had some emergency power left at key stations while Kalos cut the rest of the deck for repairs, but that also meant he had only the dull red tint of emergency lighting to see by. He looked at this readouts and tightened his lips in concern.

=^= Dael to Bridge, it looks like the Transporter rooms on Deck 3 are relatively undamaged. My concern though is with the damage already done to the ship and whatever is going on out there that messed with our shields. A transport isn’t ideal given the circumstances, that’s part of the reason I’m delegating from my pinned position on Deck 8.=^= He took a breath and looked at the readouts. =^= That being said, if you need it, I’ll give you what I’ve got.=^=

He checked the diagnostics that his Ops console was receiving. Need to bolster up the phase transition coil in case that faults out he thought, his fingers moving on the console to adjust some of the power flow to buffer that system. Another few key entries and he put in a subroutine to balance any spikes to the annular confinement beam should they occur. He didn’t know what the Commander needed the transporter for, but he be damned if a few breached decks and power outages would stop him from doing his job.
