Aaron began, moving his hands as he talk: “Basically, the main problems about those asteroids are their electrical charges. I think it allows them to create an electromagnetic field around them that renders our deflector beam ineffective, Hopefully, we can modify the deflector beam to match the frequencies of those magnetic waves and repulse the asteroid. We have already made the necessary modification on the disruptor beam parameters and are ready to engage it whenever you wan-“

A chirp sounded from the comm system, a small shuttle was approaching the Challenger but from what could be told, it was in a bad way. It was losing power and it’s approach was erratic, the shuttle flying at an odd angle like it was struggling to move. The message that came through was scrambled slightly, either from the energy in the asteroids or damage to the shuttle itself.

Looking at the shuttle, Aaron’s confident face turns pale. He once saw a shuttle losing his controls at the Academy, with all the damage it caused and the victims dislocated bodies lying on the ground, and wished to never see such a disaster again. If any god has ever heard his wish, he surely was in a mocking mood today.

Holding his breath, Aaron gives an anguished look at Foley, waiting for his instructions.

Lieutenant JG Aaron Williams - CSO

Leaving the bridge, Kalos headed to deck eight where he could get to the computer core.

-Kalos Onovren, Engineer
~ Lt. jr. gr. Rodier - CoS

At one of the Ops stations, the NE manning it turned slightly to the Command Staff. “Our tractor beam is operational, but at reduced power. I think we can get the shuttle into the hangar bay but we might need an emergency crew if it has a plasma leak.”

Ops NE

“Well what are you all standing there for. Let’s get that shuttle towed in. Mr. Williams, as soon as that shuttle is clear, you are to proceed with your plan. Anything we can do to keep those asteroids off of us so we can do repairs will be appreciated.”

“Aye Sir,” the Ops NE said and turned back to the console, working to get a lock on the small shuttle for the Tractor beam that they could use.

=^= Bridge to Sickbay. Emergency medical team to the main shuttle bay. We are tractoring in a shuttle that got caught in the same asteroid field that we did. =^=

Without waiting for a response, Aaron closed the channel and opened another one to Stadi. =^= Foley to Stadi. What’s the chances that you would be able to give me a transporter room? =^=

Cmdr. Foley - XO

=^= Dael to Bridge, it looks like the Transporter rooms on Deck 3 are relatively undamaged. My concern though is with the damage already done to the ship and whatever is going on out there that messed with our shields. A transport isn’t ideal given the circumstances, that’s part of the reason I’m delegating from my pinned position on Deck 8.=^= He took a breath and looked at the readouts. =^= That being said, if you need it, I’ll give you what I’ve got.=^=

-Lt. jg Dael Stadi, CE (crosspost)

=^=Kalos to bridge, Tender and I are on our war to subspace control. However, the material composition of the asteroids seem to be made of a relatively soft material as the corridor here is covered in a fine powder. I don’t know if the powderization was caused by the shields the hull or even an explosive reaction caused by contact with charged particles as it tore through the power grid in this section. would you like me to collect a sample while we are out here for science to analyze?=^=

-Kalos Onovren Engineer (comms from deck 08)

=^= If you get a chance. Your primary mission is to get this ship back up and running. Science can always go back through and get a sample later. =^=

“I have lock on the shuttle, engaging tractor beam now,” said the Ops officer. A moment later, the blue beam of their tractor unit became visible as it reached out for the shuttle.

Ops NE

On the bridge, as the Ops NE monitored the shuttle and the beam, he started, suddenly looking more alert and tapped the console.

“Sir! Shuttle has shut down all power, our scanners detected a power surge moments before the shut down that may have blown some systems. They are powerless but the tractor beam has them, for now.”

Ops NE

“Understood Ensign. Get them into the shuttlebay, and have medical inform of how our wayward travelers fared.

“Lieutenant Williams. I need to know how soon we’ll be able to start your experiment!” Aaron called out as he studied the viewscreen.
