Once at the lab, Aaron uploaded the data on the starbase computer, which took a moment. Still, it gave the scientist some time to cross his observation with the Starfleet database, hoping to narrow the research when the upload would be ready.
I don’t even think we ever heard of a substance that transports someone to another dimension, thought Aaron. But the weirdest thing is that the phenomenon only affected a part of Morton’s body, yet his vitals were normal like he never split. Weird… As he tried finding an answer, he let the computer find a similar substance capable of doing what happened to Morton, based on Aaron’s description.

The results were rather disappointing. There was no known or synthetic substance that could create a pocket universe in the manner they had witnessed. There were larger stellar phenomena that operated in similar ways on a grander scale, but certainly nothing smaller from something that simply had reacted to the nitrogen in the atmosphere.

With a sigh, Aaron closed the search window and sat for a second. The solution eluded him, and his last hope was the data he collected while countering the substance effects back at the hangar. Perhaps it’s a substance that was brought unstable and reacted in an unconventional way. Maybe the shock when the bottle fell…
The computer made a sound to alert Aaron that the data has been uploaded. Looking at the screen, the scientist began to scroll down the page to understand what happened to Morton.
