A bunch of the crew from Jupiter Station had clearance to board the Challenger in order to organized and commence the extensive repairs. One of these people decided to check out one of the more innocuous spaces first, curious about the effects of that pocket universe. Tricorder in one hand and a PaDD under tucked under the other arm, the fairly tall man eyed the space with his light brown eyes. It looked on the surface like everything was in order, but the reports they had received ahead of the ship’s arrival suggested otherwise.

Flipping open the tricorder, he began to take detailed scans.

OOC: This is open to anyone not already in another Main Sim thread. For new cadets, this is because these threads are all happening at the same time and you can only be in one place at a time during a main sim unless specially directed otherwise.

Dr. Rahm Vesta entered Cargo Bay 3, trailed by a small robotic cart she used to transport heavier objects. Several of her personal belongings and research materials were still being held in storage, and during her downtime, she’d been transferring items to her quarters and offices as needed.

She’d been burning the candle at both ends, lately, working on a book chapter about Occupation-era Bajoran miners and treating PTSD. Her main goal today was to gather a small collection of mineral samples and a box with some first-hand accounts and taped interviews as she finished up her chapter.

She’d expected the bay to be empty–but there was a tall stranger with a PaDD scanning for… something. Vesta gathered her robes, marched up to the mam, and with all the authority she could muster, said “Excuse me, I am Chief Medical Officer Rahm. Who’s given you clearance to be here?”

-CMO Rahm Vesta

The man looked up and turned his head to her briefly. Dressed in an operations division uniform , he held the rank of Lieutenant. “Cameron Russo, Jupiter Station’s Chief Operations Officer. ”

Now that he had finished overseeing the refit, Alex decided that He should check out the cargo bay where they had created a pocket universe. He hadn’t gotten the chance to look for himself yet and he wanted to make sure that there wasn’t any major damage to systems in that area. Entering he noticed the doctor and someone else he didn’t recognize. “Doctor.” he said nodding, acknowledging her presence.

His gaze flicked back to the tricorder. “You all got yourself some crazy infrastructure issue, and my team is helping fix it. Not everyday you hear people creating pocket universes on a starship.”

“Well you’re in luck, ‘cause infrastructure is my job aboard this ship. What have you got ?”

  • Alex Sheridan

Russo looked down at the tricorder and then back at the other two officers. “Well, the microfractures are extensive as expected and we’ll probably have to replace the entirety of the deck here. I’m surprised you made it back at warp without anything buckling. And I read in the report that were some concerns about how close it was getting to the antimatter pods next door, so we’ll want to make sure everything is okay on the other side of the cargo bay.”

“Agreed” Alex said, looking around “and you can just scrap the old antimatter pods, thats one of the things being replaced in the refit.”

He crouched and eyed the floor carefully. “I’m a little concerned with the state of flux this area was in.” He reached out his hand and touched the spot where Ensign Morton had been standing. “I know some folks over on the situation that would like to do some extensive testing. Since we have to replace the surface and a couple sublayers anyway, mind if we cut a piece to send to the labs?” Russo said with more than a glimmer of excitement in his eyes.

“well in that case…” he trailed off, considering… “I don’t see any reason why you can’t have a sample, but why don’t you take one of the antimatter pods with you for the whitecoats while you’re at it, ‘cause like I said we don’t need ‘em. It means less paperwork for me.”

  • Lt, Sheridan

Russo flashed a grin. “Sounds good to me. One of our science docs loves messing with energy systems. Bet you anything he’ll have some interesting insights.”

“Anything you need for the refit supply wise I can expedite?”

Bump

Dr. Rahm had been listening to the two men as she was perusing through a box of her stored files.

“You mean, this is the bay where the… incident happened to that poor Ensign before I came aboard. Of course I read all the logs about it,” she said toward the two.

-CMO Rahm Vesta

The COO nodded and tapped the deck plate he had previously touched. “This is where he was standing when the bottle broke against his foot and poof half of him existed in another realm. It fascinating…” Russo said with a bit of awe before looking up at the other two and realizing how that might sound. “Terrible, of course, but it’s not an everyday occurrence. You understand?”
