Side Sim: Holodeck 1- Cooking with a Cadet (Open to anyone[and everyone])

Posted Feb. 3, 2023, 1:23 p.m. by Cadet Kylie Brecker (Engineer) (D Inman)

Kylie Brecker casually strolled around deck nine. She seemed thoughtful for a bit as she subconsciously headed towards the Nine Forward Lounge. After a few moments, she realized she stood at the closed door lost in her own head. The human woman chuckled to herself and muttered to herself about missing an old hobby. Abruptly she headed towards the turbolift as an idea sparked in her head. Stepping onto the turbolift she seemed somewhat excited betraying her usually collected demeanor. “Deck Five.” She said quickly and watched as the door shut, and she grabbed onto a railing on the side as the lift shot up heading to her specified deck. A moment later there is a ding and a soft =^=Deck Five=^= came from within the lift. The cadet wasted no time as she hurried off of the turbolift. Quickly she to Holodeck 1 and checks if it is in use. Seeing the compartment was not being utilized at the moment her grin grew even wider. Stepping to the door she speaks softly. “Computer Simulate the Hell’s Kitchen restaurant circa 2010.”
She waited a moment as the computer worked on her request. She waited on the doors before they opened. The doors opened to a street in Manhattan, revealing a grand building in front of her. She stared at the neon lit entrance of the building looking thoughtful as her mind wandered to some of the technical aspects of the science behind making such glowing lights. Her mind didn’t stick to the task too long as she stepped up the stairs and into the building. Stepping inside her breath was sucked away as she took in the arcature. She looked around a bit before heading back towards her true goal. The kitchen. She seemed to be in awe of the stations and implements of the kitchen looking at the tools and gadgets each neatly in their places. She smiled a gleam in her eye.
In her youth on the ship she was raised on she remembered the fits the protean resequencer, and replicators would give in giving cooked or prepared foods. She found it odd and strange that they could get raw materials… or things that were burned so badly that it was charcoal. So they had had their ingredients sequenced raw, and someone had made a makeshift kitchen on their ship. She couldn’t for the life of her remember how she got drawn into cooking the first time… but now it was a job that she found she missed. She took measure and tested a few things she didn’t know what they were for or what they did and eventually familiarized herself with the tools in the kitchen. She takes quite some time doing this, memorizing each.
