OOC: For the sake of keeping the action clear, I’m going to keep this thread separate from the happenings inside the lab, so cross post comms as people have been doing already. They still do get through for now. I will let you know if that changes.
IC:
“Almost there,” Russo said. They turned a couple more corners and came to the labs. The COO stepped in and moved to a door in the back but crouched down near a panel. “They’re in there. Let’s keep our distance as much as we can until we are sure the outer containment field is holding.”

=/\=Russo to Rice. We’re outside the lab. What’s your status?=/\=

=/\=Oh, thank goodness. We’re -ay for the moment and ino-ulated for the time being against — radiation, but struggling to keep containment on the cham-. Cadet Brecker from the eng-eering department was wondering about specs. That’s your terr–ory given the classification.=/\=

Thank the Prophets, Vesta thought. At least they had the appropriate drugs she requested, but with the interference, did James and Kylie get the right doses?

She looked to Dar, then to Russo, studying the men’s faces.

He nodded, more to himself than anything. =/\=Cadet Breker, are you able to get a view on the main power supply? It means pulling off the lower panel on the base of the chamber and assessing the power assembly. There are supposed to be two separate ones. One on the right and one on the left. Are they still separately wired?=/\=

“Oh good. At least they are OK for the moment. Just tell me what I need to do and I’ll do it. Even at the cost of my own life.”

Sorazo

Russo shot Dar a strange look. “Or we cannot do anything stupid that gets ourselves killed. That would also be an acceptable option.”

Pilar arrived later than she intended to because she had gathered a couple of Dr. Vesta’s medical staff just in case they were needed after the occupants were freed from the lab. “Lieutenant Russo.” She was relieved to see him assisting in the effort. “Any news?” She asked, “I am here to help. Since you are stationed here I assume you are familiar with the specs of the station and any other components we may need to access to successfully recover the crew in the lab, therefore this is your show. Just tell us what to do and we will follow your lead.” She paused then sId, “Please tell me there is a plan to free them? ”

Halcyone, XO

Cameron nodded and gestured to the door. “Cadet Brecker is checking on the power configuration and if it’s not what it’s supposed to be, then we’ll do a bypass and hopefully not blow anyone up,” she said rather matter-of-factly. “But we also need to bypass the command pathways and override the containment protocol. But I don’t want to do that until we have the power issue sorted.”

“The communication we are getting from them seems to be spotty. Why is that? I am afraid we will eventually lose all communication. I also wonder if they are also having the same issue. If so they might not be able to follow your instructions.”

“Radiation,” Russo said simply, focusing on his readouts and waiting for a response from Brecker.

“Pilar, thank the Prophets. And I see you brought N’Chellet and Riddell!”
Pilar smiled and nodded. She figured that Dr. Rahm wanted her medical cadets nearby. If not anything she took her as a person who liked to be prepared much like her own self.

Now that Vesta knew that Cadets Brecker and Black were doing their best and that Commander Halcyone had backup nearby, she could finally breathe for a minute and access the situation.

“NE N’Challet, prepare the hyposprays, please,” she said to one of the medical staff who entered with Pilar.

“Does the Station have automatic medical-grade force fields in the corridors in case of breach, Mr. Russo?”

“Naturally, “Cameron said, still not even looking up. He wasn’t being rude- he just didn’t want to miss anything.

From a medical standpoint, precaution was the next obvious step–though the real risk was still staring them in the face.

-CMO Rahm Vesta

“Lieutenant Russo,” Pilar said “What were they working on in the lab? Why would it shut down and go into lockdown as it has?”

Halcyone, Counselor

At this question, Cameron swivelled in her direction. “Doctor Greene is using an experimental system to study the effects of subspace on organic matter. The chamber he uses seems to be compromised. Given that it is highly maintained, this should not be happening. But in an emergency, his lab goes into lockdown to prevent a disaster on the rest of the station. It’s unfortunate that anyone was inside, but the alternatives are not something we want to consider. We’re working on a solution from the inside to shut everything down safely. “
