Ensign Beams was waiting patiently for the away team to show up. Hopefully someone had an idea of where they were going, because it did not look friendly down on that asteroid. As he waited, he brought up a game titled “Asteroid.” Chuckling to himself he blasted away at the digital asteroids to pass the time.
Ensign Beams
Zunara appeared in the doorway of the transporter room, phaser rifle sheathed and a tricorder in his left hand, “Hope I’m not interuppting anything Ensign?”
-Lieutenant Zunara: Chief of Security-
Ensign Beams casually swiped the game away, returning the console to it’s normal layout. “Of course not Lieutenant. Just waiting for the final transporter coordinates.”
Just then, the doors swished open again, and Pilar walked in, her brow furrowed in concentration. “Sorry for the delay,” she said as she stood near Ensign Beams, hands locked behind her back. “I’ve been analyzing the probe data we’ve collected so far. It’s not much, and the asteroid is unremarkable but it looks like there might be a section on the asteroid’s surface that is deal for landing. We could use as a starting point. We’ll need to set up a temporary base of operations and establish a series of relay points back to the ship for communication and transporter lock.” She looked at the security chief and said, “Zunara, take the security team and scout ahead to secure the immediate area once you are on the surface. Then, you’ll be in charge of setting up the relays. Lieutenant Lis, will lead the science team to assess the geological and environmental conditions. Dr Phylox will provide aid and care at the base once we have located the Commander and Ensign. We’ll need to move fast and keep our equipment well-protected. We haven’t heard from the Commander or Ensign so I can only assume the asteroid might cause interference with our tricorders and communicators.”
She let her hands fall to her side as she looked at the away team, “Don’t stay down there too long. Locate Commander Cole and Ensign Metwin as fast as you can and get back to the ship.”Halcyone, XO
Zunara nodded and watched as his team locked and loaded, “I’ll keep an eye on things as best I can Commander, you can count on us.”
-Lieutenant Zunara: Chief of Security-
Ensign Beams
About that time the door slid away and two Ensigns step into the transporter room, one male one female. They both look human though upon closer inspection the female would easily be able to be discerned as a betazoid. They both are loaded with some medical equipment and take positions on the transporter pad. The male nods. “Ensigns Logan and Emma reporting for duty.” He said as they both stood on the transporter pad.
-Various Medical Ensigns“Thank you for joining us, Ensigns Logan and Emma,” Pilar acknowledged with a nod. “Your medical expertise will be invaluable down on the asteroid. Just a reminder we are dealing with potential hazardous conditions on the asteroid, so make sure to suit up in your EVA suits and ensure they are properly sealed and functioning before beaming down. Safety first. Also dont forget we’re working against time, but caution is key. We don’t know what challenges or surprises the asteroid might hold. Once you’ve secured the immediate area, communicate back to the ship, and we’ll proceed accordingly. Stay in close contact with each other and the ship. Let’s bring our colleagues back safely.”
Halcyone, XO
The pair of medical Ensigns stepped down off of the pad and headed to the nearest storage area with EVA suits. When 20 minutes passed only Emma came back. “I apologize, Ensign Logan had a emergency nearby he had to respond to since we were the ones nearby.” She explained as she stepped back up on the pad.

=^= Bridge to Transporter Room. We’ve found signs of a shuttle sliding across the surface towards one of the crevices. I want the team to beam down to the site to investigate further. Perhaps they can spot the shuttle from there. I also recommend taking along a set of transporter enhancers, just in case. =^=
Capt Foley - CO
Pilar nodded in acknowledgment of Emma’s explanation and then activated the communicator on her chest, responding to the captain’s orders. “Understood, Captain Foley. Lieutenant Zunara, will head to the site immediately with the transporter enhancers.”
With that, Pilar helped the team retrieve the necessary equipment before they stepped onto the transporter pad. Standing near Ensign Beams, she watched ss the transporter activated and saw them dissolved into shimmering particles, Pilar wondered what challenges and surprises awaited them on the asteroid. She hoped that they would be able to bring their colleagues back safely.
Halcyone, XO
The away team materialized a kilometer away from the edge of the crevice, which was about how close they could safely be beamed. It did mean a short hike in EVA suits, but that was likely better than being lost in the transportation process.
The terrain was much like one expected of a hunk of rock slowly moving through space. There were lots of hills and valleys that from farther away seemed minor, but on the surface proved to be more challenging terrain. Fortunately, they didn’t have to deal with the worst of it and the path before them was most moderate.

Pilar continued monitoring the away team’s progress from the ship’s transporter room. As they prepared to trudge through the challenging terrain of the asteroid, she couldn’t help but feel a mix of relief and anxiety. Relief that they had safely arrived and were making progress, but anxiety about the potential dangers that might lurk on this celestial body.
Back on the ship, Pilar maintained her communication with the away team. “Team, remember to keep your communicators active, and report in regularly. We’ll maintain a lock on your positions,” she reminded them, her voice steady and reassuring.
Halcyone, XO
“Aye Commander,” Zunara replied quickly, “Wish us luck!”

-Kieron-
Pilar nodded, even though Zunara couldn’t see her through the communication channel. “Good luck, Lieutenant Zunara. Stay vigilant, and don’t hesitate to call for assistance if needed.”
Halcyone, XO
OOC: Kieron I believe this where you will start leading the away team and exploring the astroid. You can say something like: Meanwhile, the away team continued their descent into the asteroid’s cavernous terrain, their communicators crackling with static from the asteroid’s dense rock. Just an idea, so our GM can move us along :)
“Oh don’t worry Commander, I will.” Zunara closed the channel and turned to the away team, “Tricorders out everyone!” Zunara took point and led the away team further into the depth of the asteriod.
-Lieutenant Zunara: Chief of Security-
OOC: Anything else I can do to move this forward? :)
-Kieron-
OOC: Had a rough week but I’m back.
IC:
On the surface of the asteroid, there was a bit more detail on the terrain, but not much had changed. As they reached the edge of the large crevice where the shuttle was thought to be, they lost some of the sensor details. They couldn’t pinpoint the shuttle’s location precisely, but it was about 30 meters below them. But when they looked down into the crevice with light, they could see it clearly sitting on a landing of sorts that seemed visually stable. The shuttle was definitely damaged and there was light in the forward window. The shuttle looked dead but it was possible the pair survived and were using emergency supplies.~Mischief Maker
Pilar watched the tricorder readings intently as Zunara and the away team approached the edge of the crevice. She knew that this was a critical moment, and her anxiety grew as the details on the sensors became less precise.
“Zunara, be cautious as you approach the crevice,” Pilar advised over the communicator. “If you find any signs of life, report immediately.”Halcyone, XO
Emma had appeared with the rest of the group. She looked rather nervous, though it was clear she had tried to show some bravado and calm though slowly her breathing was getting heavier, evidence made by her Evesuit helmet had fogged a little. She walked along with the group, her hand tightening on the medical supplies as she held her medical tricoder out, ever at the ready incase they found the missing crewmen.
