Max was trying his best to keep up with Richards. He was totally going to have to get back into running again, he had spent to much time on the weights and it was definitely showing in his endurance. Thank goodness the ship wasn’t that big, otherwise Richards was easily going to out pace him.

He caught sight of Richards as he turned a corner and he quickly followed suit. What was ahead, what was ahead, he thought as he followed behind Richards. Shoot.

=^= Nijix, this is Harkness. He’s heading for impulse control. Get a team there ASAP. =^=

They came to a straight run and Max cranked up the speed. “Richards, we can help you. Everything is going to be okay.”

Cmdr. Harkness - XO

As she heard Anderson relay her location, Nijix mentally mapped out the situation. The impulse controls were in the same hallway as the turbo lift. This put Anderson and the group in the perfect position to intercept the target.

With the XO and others chasing him, they could herd the man into the other group.

=^= Tavium to Harkness, I have an idea.=^=Nijix replied then contacted Anderson again.

=^=Anderson, Richards is heading to the impulse controls in the reactors. He can not get in there. You and Moore’s group need to intercept him. Can you do that?=^=

During the whole conversation, she was hot on Richards tail along with the others. Unlike the XO, she did do a lot of long-distance running and could keep this up for longer periods of time. It didn’t mean she would be able to catch up any time soon.

-Lt. Nijix Tavium, CoS

=^= Well think fast, because we are quickly running out of time. =^=

Hopefully she had someone that was a lot closer. Because the last thing they needed was for him to get into the control room and lock them out. Because who knows what he would do before they broke through the door.

Cmdr. Harkness - XO

Lillian was standing on guard when the next message came in.
=^=Anderson, Richards is heading to the impulse controls in the reactors. He can not get in there. You and Moore’s group need to intercept him. Can you do that?=^=
=^= Understood Sir, James and i will approach from this position and and Moore can circle around and we can trap him before he gets to the controls.=^=
Lillian looked over to James.
“we should get to the controls and stop him” Lillian gestured for him to take point as she started moving to ward to control room.
“If he gets anywhere near you stun him you don’t want to get what he has” Lillian was sure she could hear Richards running some where down the Corridor.

Lillian Anderson Security Cadet

OOC: I am still reading the thread, just waiting for a need for me to intercede. If you want to split the thread into the chase for Richards and then one for what is happening with the bitten CMO that might be easier to track.

GM Wombat.

OOC: Splitting off to a new thread.
IC:
Coming around the corner Max stopped, he had lost sight of Richards. He was still pretty positive that he was headed for the control room, but now they had to go on that hunch.

=^= Harkness to Tavium. I’ve lost him Lieutenant. Do you have eyes on Richards? =^=

Cmdr. Harkness - XO

Richards could still hear the pursuit behind him, his ears seeming to be able to pinpoint each footfall and even the controlled breathing of the Trill Chief of Security behind him. The corridor seemed to distort before his eyes and he stumbled, put his hand out to steady himself but the wall was further away than he thought. He could feel moisture pouring from him, an itch on his skin that sunk deeper into him. A bag slapped against his thigh and as he moved, his hand slipped into it and felt something round and hard against his skin. He couldn’t remember what it was, something you pressed against your skin, perhaps.

He could taste something metallic in his mouth, and he spat. Spots of blood coating the wall where he passed. Ahead of him he heard the sound of a metal door sliding open, footsteps. He could smell, something. Cologne? It was sweet.

Richards began to move faster, crouching, almost silent even as he ran. The sound of footsteps from more than one person around the corner, soft breathing of someone. Maybe it was his own breathing. He sprinted around the corner, vision blurred by sweat and fever. Two figures where in his way, figures he didn’t recognise and beyond them a door. He ran hard into the lead figure, a man, and the two crumpled to the floor, Richards arms and legs flailing for a foothold. He tasted blood again, and looked up at the second figure. Footsteps closer behind him, a figure in front of him, his skin itching and irritating.

He lunged at the figure standing before him, not sure just how far away it really was, in his hand a hypospray pulled from the bag, the metallic taste stronger on his tongue.

NE Richards

Max came around the corner at a jog, just trying to catch an idea of which way Richards had gone. If this had been in a forest, the way Richards was panicking it would have been a super easy trail to follow. But on a starship, there was almost no evidence he had passed. Well, except for that blood splatter a bit farther down the hallway.

Picking up speed, Maxwell made it to the wall. Looking around, he noticed a few drops of blood on the floor. Taking the corner he kept moving. It wasn’t long before he heard sounds of a fight. He came up on the group right as he saw Richards raise his arm and lunge for the second person, hyposrapy outstretched. Putting on a burst of speed he reached for the hypospray, who know what was loaded into it. But he had one goal, to keep Richards from injecting it into the other person, or Max himself.

Cmdr. Harkness - XO

OOC: Trying to give Julie a chance to react before my Trill gets involved. For now, apologies for the short post.

IC: Nijix remained hot on her prey’s heels as she began to trail behind, her legs unable to keep up with the man’s speed. As he turned a corner, her ears caught the XO’s message.

She pressed her own comm badge to reply. =^= Yes sir, but he’s slowly getting away from me. If the other officers don’t box him in, I’m going to lose him. =^=

As she turned one final corner, her eyes spotted Richards rush an individual. With instinct and concern driving her, her phrase jerked up. If Richards were still standing after the struggle, he would’ve found a shot fired at his back. If it was her other officers, she would put it away and approach them.

-Lt. Nijix Tavium, CoS

“Comeon Richards, relax. Just take it easy,” Max said while he tried grappling with Richards. He pulled Richards back to the floor, shoving his arm straight back, trying to knock the hypospray free.

Cmdr. Harkness - XO

Lillian Ran around the corner with James not far behind she saw the XO standing there approaching Richards from the far side of the corridor leaving Richards between them Lillian swag her rifle around and took aim at Richards
” Richards, This is your only warring surrender NOW” Lillian could see the madness in his eyes and decided not to wait and took the shot.

Lillian Anderson Security Cadet

As Lillian shot at Richards, Max let him go, trying to stay out of the shot. That was a short warning. They were definitely going to have to keep an eye on more of the crew.

“Keep your rifle on him Cadet, don’t hesitate to shoot again,” he said as he pulled himself out from under Richards.

Cmdr. Harkness - XO

The shot from Anderson had struck true, the stun sending waves of energy through him and making his head swim, his vision darken and his legs go weak. He had crumpled, and that had given Harkness the time to roll out from under him. In the scuffle Richards had lost the hypo, but now his eyes opened again as the effects of the stun seemed to wear off far too rapidly as if whatever was infecting him had somehow absorbed the energy.

Richards rolled and came to his feet. There were too many of them, but he had to defend himself. Through the fog that clouded his mind he knew there were at least three of them and the closest, the one that grappled him, was the easiest to reach. Richards launched at the man, trying to bodily knock him to the ground. There was no skill, no finesse in the lunge, just a primal need for contact and force that left Richards open to both Nijix and Anderson.

NE Richards, Medical

“Shoot him!” Max said as Richards charged at him, but there wasn’t going to be time. Spinning Max did roundhouse kick, kicking Richards in the stomach. He wasn’t sure how long it would hold off Richards, but hopefully long enough for them to get their shots off.

Cmdr. Harkness - XO

The impact drove Richards back and doubled him over slightly, bringing him to a pause for just a moment, a pain exploding in his head bringing an angry grunt from the man.

NE Richards, Medical
