Counselor’s Office - Alex Winters’ Boarding Assessment

OOC: I’m not exactly sure I’m allowed to be active in two threads at once, but I assume that if I’m not, someone will stop me. Assume this thread takes place some time after Alex has left Sickbay.

IC:

As the Sickbay doors slid shut behind Alex’ back, she began jogging lightly down the corridor. She knew that most people who grew up among the comforts of modern times considered her habit of jogging pretty much everywhere a bit odd. It was something she’d picked up while following her grandfather around the colony, from one near-fatal injury to the next woman in labor.

“Walk everywhere with purpose,” he had said, taking long strides, and simply assuming she would keep up. She did, eventually. After she’d figured out that keeping up required jogging. It had stood her in good stead during Plebe Summer at the Academy, 85% of which could probably be captured in the words ‘hurry up and wait’. Emphasis on ‘hurry up’.

She read the name plates on the hatches as she moved down the corridor, until she came to one that said ‘Lt. Cmdr. Janusz Korczak - Counselor’. She almost laughed at how that sounded in her head, before sternly reminding herself that Slavic names don’t tend to lend themselves to easy transliteration into the Latin alphabet.

Childish smile wiped off her face, she rang the chime, and waited.
