Clark quickly steps out of the turbolift and starts following the Lieutenant, he thinks for a short while before answering the question. He does his best to remember the ship schematics he spent days studying, even with the excessive amount of studying Clark did about the Challenger, he somehow still didn’t seem to remember them all that clearly.

“It’s… The docking clamps! Inbetween decks 7 and 8 are the ships docking clamps!” he says this a lot louder than he meant too.

Suddenly remembering the position of who he is talking to, he hurriedly sticks a “sir” on the end of his sentence. He then looks forward and down slightly and keeps following.

-Cadet J. Clark

Keval looked over at the cadet, his antennae curving slightly in amusement. “Indeed,” Keval said, before being distracted with opening up the entrance to the Jefferies tubes.

“Because the hull is designed to separate between the two decks, it does make Challenger more susceptible to hull breaches in this area. There are two ways to prevent that from happening, and we need to regularly inspect both,” Keval said, as he entered the Jefferies tubes. “One is, of course, installing additional hull plating.”

(OOC: Just a reminder that you should start your sickbay and counselor threads as well :) )

-Lt. Keval Vras, CE

He follows his Lt. into the Jefferies Tube, struggling for a second to get both toolboxes in with him, the closes the tube entrance as he enters and stars crawling behind Vras.
“Sir? The second way of preventing hull breaches, would it be to make sure the structural integrity field is still at full strength around the 2 decks? on that train of thought…” He pauses to collect his thoughts for a second before continuing
“If the field was underpowered around the docking clamps, would we take power away from a different part of the field, one that is just around solid hull plates, to keep it stable?”

-Cadet J. Clark

“Good thinking, cadet,” Keval said, showing genuine praise in his voice. “In fact, you’ll notice Discovery automatically diverts additional power to the structural integrity field on Decks 7 and 8, and there are additional emitters throughout this area.”

“But that does require additional inspections,” the Andorian continued, as he moved towards the first emitter. “Hand me the holo-diagnosis tool. We’ll want to see the what is actually going inside the emitter without having to deactivate them if we can avoid it.”

(OOC: You’ll see that I trimmed the post because it was starting to get too long. I did that by deleting a large part of the earlier parts that weren’t needed for context anymore, and indicated I did so by replacing the deleted text with “<snip>“.)

-Lt. Keval Vras, CE

=^= Engineering to Chief Engineer Vras, I’m receiving notifications of an unscheduled cadet in the Jefferies Tube between decks seven and eight near your area. Are you seeing anything unusual on your end Sir? =^=
LTJG. Zenzgii, CE (oncoming)

Vras grumbled at the interruption. =^= Well, given that I’m in the Jefferies tubes between Decks Seven and Eight, I think things appear to be very good. Including Cadet Clark who is with me to assist today’s inspection… Actually, perhaps you can come here and take over from me? =^=

-Lt. Keval Vras, CE
