OOC: Good first post, the one thing you are missing is your signature, its your rank. name, and position, at the end of your post, it is how we tell when one ends and another starts. Your signature is Cadet Thomas O’Neil- Security

IC: Chief of Security Joseph Rainns was standing by the replicator in his office, picking up the glass of water he had just ordered he took it to the desk and sat down in his seat. He picked up his pen and clipboard and scribbled down the name of his newest Cadet. Thomas O’Neil. He took in a deep breath, his appointment was late. The cadet should be arriving any second now. As if on cue his chime rang. “Enter.” He exclaimed.

O’Neil entered quickly and calmed his mind as he stood at a slight attention.
“I am very sorry, Lieutenant Rainns. I managed to get lost on-board a starship for the very first time. I can promise you, it won’t happen again, sir.”
Thomas said in a neutral tone.

Joseph looked up from his clipboard. “I certainly hope not Cadet, at ease.” He motioned for the cadet to take a seat.

”That could’ve gone worse, I guess”
Henry thought to himself. He pulled out a chair and took a seat across from the COS.

OOC: Don’t forget your signature

Rainns leaned back in his seat for a moment before reaching forward and grabbing his glass of water and taking a sip. “So, what has drawn you to Starfleet Mr. O’Neil,” He inquired, after finishing his sip. “And more importantly, what has drawn you to the Security field?”

Lt Jg. Joseph Rainns- COS

“Well… I wanted to be more than what I could be on my own. Starfleet allows me to be part of something more than just myself. Whether it’s exploring strange new worlds, or helping others in need, I wanted to be part of that. And when it comes to security, I’d like to eventually become a tactical officer as well. I know my way around a phaser, both in my hand and on a ship. But I also empathize very well. I think a bit of empathy is something a security officer needs. To make the right calls.”
Thomas’s voice had grown more confident as he spoke.

OOC: Don’t forget signature :)

IC: Rainns nodded, “What sort of grander picture do you see yourself taking part in specifically? What makes you a good fit for security? What kind of skills, both tangible and intangible, do you bring to the table?”
