Side-SIM | Cadet Clark meets his DH

Posted July 13, 2020, 7:52 p.m. by Cadet James Clark (Engineer) (Alex J)

<snip>

=^= Understood, I’ll be there shk’nk aak...... soon =^= It wouldn’t be too long before the soft clicks of claws could be heard tapping on metal from the far end of the Jefferies tube at a cross juncture. From the ceiling a reptilian poked out and blinked two sets of eyelids as it regarded the duo with a perpetual like smile, ” Rather unorthodox way to relieve comk’ank..... cmk’nk’k… command.” He shook his head in disappointment “Translator needs a software update.”

Zenzgii, CE

((OOC: Hi gang! So glad to be here, okay since we’re working on the fly here. Have you had a chace to try snipping a thread yet?))

“As the humans say, ‘rank has its privileges’. Which seems obvious to me, but humans tend to make sayings out of the obvious.” Keval said. “We were just getting started on the scheduled inspection of the structural integrity field generators. Of course, I have three places to be at the same time because Starfleet generally assumes all Chief Engineers have clones, so if you are free now…”

“Lieutenant, Cadet,” Keval said, heading to the entrance.

-Lt. Keval Vras, CE

Zenzgii tilted his head to one side after orientating himself. “You don’t have clones? .. I suppose that’s one perk to Saurians being able to reproduce asexually, we don’t fall under the Darwin Treaty.” Blinking both sets of eyes, he regarded the cadet. “Well? How would you like to start, personally i’m not a fan of being shocked so i’d consider safety tag outs and informing someone of what level of Diagnostic i’m about to perform so they can have a reasonable time frame to expect odd readings on said consoles.” Squinting his eyes the Saurian had a cherub like expression of joy to see minds questioning and burning to find anwsers.

-Zenzgii. CE

Clark takes a few seconds to process all that has happened in this relatively short period, after a while he looks at Zenzgii with a puzzled expression on his face
“I- ur… Yes, I will call engineering to inform them about to level… level 3 diagnostic? That we will be running” Clark’s voice raises in pitch as he guesses the diagnostic level that is needed. As he turns back toward the Field Projector, he pauses and turns back to his companion
“Sir, this may be a stupid question, but… what are safety tag outs? I don’t remember the term from any manuals or guidebooks.”

-Cadet J. Clark

Zenzgii let out a series of clicks and short squeals the resembled laughing, “I suppose that is something that rubbed off on me at my last command, It means to make sure you take precautions so that someone always knows what you are doing. If for example the saucer were to need to separate right this moment, we would want to know so we didn’t risk getting caught in a very dangerous environment. To do that we inform engineering of where we are as well as how long we intend to take doing inspections.” He gave a candid nod before looking back up the Jefferies tube, “We’re not in a rush so a level three diagnostic isn’t a bad idea, would you like the honors?” Zenzgii, pointed at his com badge and winked one of his nictitating membranes as he whispered, “Make sure you say it with confidence, not aggression.”

-Zenzgii, CE

As Zenzgii says this, Clarks looks up at him and gives a slight smile, with a hint of terror an emotion that can only be described as I'm sorry *what*
Hesitantly he taps his Combadge.

=/\= Cadet Clark to- to engineering, I will- I mean we, we as in me and the Chief Engineer, we will be performing some level 3 diagnostics on the… the integrity field generators, so just… expect some strange readings, Cadet Clark out =/\=

He looks back at the Chief, “That… was a train wreck, I should let you do that next time.”
Clark turns back to the field generators and starts running the diagnostics
