Anders smirked as he noticed that McMorran was not confused by the Britishism he had just used. He tapped his combadge:
=^=Anders to Engineering, I am sending the security feed from Commander Holmann’s quarters, it appears to have been tampered with.=^=

Cadet Kyle Anders: Security

T’Mor looked over from her work towards McMorran with a slightly puzzled look.

“Mucked about with it, Lieutenant?” she asked, “I assume that is some kind of idiom?”

Cadet T’Mor, Science Department

It took a few seconds for Aili to draw herself out from the pit of her own contemplation and realise what it was T’Mor was saying. “Oh!” She swallowed a chuckle. “Aye! It just means tampered with.”

Absent mindedly, her thinking slowed by the heat, she rested a hand on T’Mor’s shoulder in a pal-y manner. “I was going to shut the heat off but I suppose it’s best left as is for engineering to examine.” Her voice raised as she addressed both cadets and her free hand began fanning her face once again. “We should take our findings to a lab for further examination, including these garments. Do we have any other ideas for leads to investigate here?”

Lt. J.G. Aili McMorran - CSO

Kyle thought out his next move, “Maybe I could report to Engineering to help Lieutenant Zenzegil analyse the security feed? It would probably be beneficial, as Lieutenant Rainns is still occupied with the XO.”

-Cadet Kyle Anders: Security-

McMorran just had time to open her mouth to speak when…

A few moments later, Joseph Rainns stepped into the room. The XO had been less than helpful and Joseph was not happy. His face wore a scowl, and anyone looking at him could tell he was not happy. “Report people, what have you found out?” He said, surveying the room. “Any leads that might be helpful?”

Lt. Jg. Joseph Rainns- COS

After looking back and forth a few times between Anders and Rainns, Aili gave the cadet a look that said ‘speak of the devil’. “Nothing significant that you don’t already know about Lieutenant. T’Mor and I are going to take these glasses and garments down to a lab for analysis. Forgive the heat, I’ve left it as is for engineering to examine. Anders, show Lieutenant Rainns the feed you showed me.”

With militaristic efficiency the CSO found the room’s replicator and generated two pairs of thin gloves. She held one set out to T’Mor and slid her own hands into the other.
McMorran dragged a number of clear bags from the replicator and carefully scooped the clothes strewn around into them, one item per bag.

“T’Mor, with me to the lab. Handle those glasses carefully now!”

With that, McMorran nodded to the two security officers, beckoned for the science cadet to follow her and paced out into the corridor.

Lt. J.G. Aili McMorran - CSO

Kyle nodded, “Aye Lieutenant,” he motioned for the Chief of Security to join him at the com panel, “Computer, replay previous security feed. As you can see Lieutenant, there’s a small indiscretion in this footage. Recommend we liase with the team in Engineering to establish what is missing.”

-Cadet Kyle Anders: Security-

The same as last time, the monitor showed that around 8 PM at night the door to the hot tub room opened but no one entered. The door closed and then an hour later the door opened again and Pey can be seen standing outside. The door closes again and then nothing. Absolutely nothing for twelve hours before suddenly on the feed the security detail opens the door and sees the XO trying to administer first aid to the naked ensign.

It is important to note that the feed didn’t fix itself until the door opened.

Rainns watched the feed, finally, a clue of foul play that might lead to something. He looked at Anders with a smirk. “Good work. Get down to main engineering and let me know what Engineering finds. I’m going to do some private investigating of my own. ” He looked about the XO’s room. “Did anyone scan the room for DNA traces by chance?” He turned to Anders, “If you haven’t I will, I have an avenue I’d like to follow.” After his response, Rainns dismissed the Cadet and sent him to main engineering.

Lt. Jg. Joseph Rainns- COS

OOC: Are you thinking like blacklight fluid look or just like a trace scan for hair/skin etc?

GM Wombat

OOC - Whoops my bad, I didn’t notice the ‘After his response’ bit of this aha

IC:

Kyle looked around the room breifly, “The only scan I remember making is a tachyon sweep, I thought someone might have been concealing themselves when I first saw the feed, so I scanned for residual tachyon particles to see if anyone might have been using a cloak.” Anders nodded at his dismissal and made his way to Engineering.

-Cadet Kyle Anders: Security

OOC: Trace and scan for skin.

Joseph examined the area thoroughly. “Computer, scan the room for any traces of any concentrated amounts of DNA, cross reference any findings with the crew manifest and tell me what the matches are, or if there are none matching.” He instructed.

Lt. Jg. Joseph Rainns- COS

There was DNA everywhere, which would be normal from all the people walking in and out of the room, there was DNA in the pool, DNA where the body had been and the examination and life saving measures, but the computer dutifly displayed on a local panel all the people that Rainns had already known about being in there, along with one Ensign Alexis Kiriakou, a scanner systems specialist in engineering.

Rainns walked over to the panel and looked over the list. His eyes stopped scrolling when they fell upon the Kiriakou’s name. “A scanner system specialist in engineering…” Rainns said out loud. He tilted his head, odd. He recalled that Anders had reported the security data had been tampered. “Computer, isolate the DNA belonging to Ensign Kiriakou. Display her service record and cross reference it with Ensign Pey. Highlight any overlap.” As The computer began to scan Rainns stepped out of the room for a few moments to grab a crime scene investigation kit which would have the proper tools to hold and transport any DNA evidence he found. Returning he put on a pair of gloves and walked over the display screen to see what the computer was showing him.

Lt. Jg. Joseph Rainns- COS

Kiriakou was a man of Cypriot decent. He had been on the ship about as long as Pey and they served on the same shift. There was a special note in his service record that he was to be sent to the Draco but had put in a transfer request to the Shinning Sea.
