Looking up, she gave him a small and almost shy smile, completely unlike her own personality. “Uh, hi new cadet. Sure, you can sit, I don’t mind, she said, seeming a bit awkward.
She pressed her hand to her chest for a moment. “I’m Kalsi, I work in the science department.” It was feigned bravery, but bravery still the same.

AJ looked around just in case someone had entered without them knowing, “hi Kalsi I am AJ it’s a real pleasure to meet you”.
AJ was certain he could pull something out the bag on this pretend encounter that could show he can overcome his inability to interact.

“So, you new here? I don’t think I’ve seen you around before?” ‘Kalsi’ said with interest, though still seeming a bit on the shy side. Liadra was just going to see where the conversation went and make decisions as she went, much like how she ran her sessions.

AJ grinned slightly “yes just been assigned to this crew, I am trying to get to know my new crew mates”.
AJ realised this was the best response and was quite proud of himself.

“Well, welcome aboard then,” ‘Kalsi’ said. “I haven’t been here all that long myself, though I’ve met the people I work with in my department of course,but I suppose that’s normal and it just takes time to meet other people on a ship like this but I do sort of worry that my cadet cruise will be over befor eI know it, you know?” Her cheeks flushed with embarrassment. “Sorry, I tend to ramble when I’m nervous.”

AJ smiled “it’s ok rambling is good it’s better than a awkward silence like I do when I get nervous”.
AJ still not sure if he was doing this whole conversing correctly then looked back at Kalsi “ I hope this cruise isn’t over too quickly I would certainly like to see everything the Endeavour and her crew has”.
