As with any good starship captain, his first step was the ensure the well-being of his ship. “Commander, a bit of an unusual introduction. How’s the ship’s status?” he asked, walking over to the Command chair.

-Captain Johnson, CO

“We’re in mop up mode, I’ve asked for departments to report in with their status, I expect we’ll hear those come in shortly, repair teams are responding to the shuttle bay and any other areas that need repair,” Keena replied, “I have helm with a course plotted to space dock, waiting for your orders to take us back into the system.”

~Keena Vahl~

Ship systems were, once the Drachin’s energy disruptions, returning to normal status. Items that needed looking at were:
- Warp core which was put offline due to the injectors being affected by the energy. That would need looking at but likely no repairs.
- Numerous minor energy overloads and panels to work at and replace or realign
- Main shuttle bay is a mess. That is the worst of it

The NE at the tactical station coughed politely. =^= Sirs, getting another request from the QM branch on whether we’re ready to take on the cargo into the Bay =^= Apparently they didn’t get the message that anything was amiss.

OOC: That is the sneaky intro to the new sim ..

As the Captain walked in behind her, Ang stepped back wishing she hadn’t come to the bridge straight away. It just seemed like something that needed more importance than the med bay, which she was sure by now was flooded with casualties. Trying to remain largely unseen, she listened to the reports and realized her first day of full duty was going to be full of more work than she planned for.

The NE turned to the Captain. “Sir, I have a ‘Chucky’ on the comms. He’s in transport bot 238 and is wondering when they can offload their cargo for us to transport.”
- Expendable NE

Ang glanced around the room and watched it all unfold. There was a lot going on and, sadly, the Chief Engineer was feeling a bit disjointed, not knowing what was happening. She hadn’t been on board long, and the curve to catch up was getting narrower and higher every time she turned the corner.

AJ walked over to NE Housen “I am here to relieve you” he said in a slightly relaxed British accent.

AJ stood at the station and took a deep breath and began working.

Cadet AJ Spicer. Eng

‘Chucky’ came on the comms. =^= Bot 3 to Endeavor Engineering. This is Chucky. We have two packages for your bay, orders of the base quartermaster. Where can we stuff’em? =^=

Johnson audibly sighed out loud. He turned to Vahl. “Commander, kindly advise the the Quartermaster that Endeavour has recently had an on board emergency and major internal ship damage and to confirm our current situation with Starfleet Headquarters. In the meantime, take us back to Earth orbit without stressing the impulse engines too much.”

The Captain paused for a moment, answering Vahl’s unspoken comment. “And yes, I know the quartermaster’s office. So come by my ready room after they send us over the updated cargo loading report.”

As he started walking towards his ready room, Johnson spoke up without turning around. “Oh, and Lieutenant To’kar? Unless I hit my head more seriously than I thought, I am fairly sure Sickbay is on Deck Six. The cadets can handle some basic repairs on their own while we are in Earth orbit.”

-Captain Johnson, CO

“Aye sir,” Keena nodded, “Helm take up back into Earth orbit, best possible speed given our condition.”

“Laying in course,” confirmed NE Miranda Lawrence. “One half impulse. Steady as she goes.”

Turning to Ops, “Get me the Quartermaster’s office.”

~Keena Vahl~

An NL Strauss replied, “Quartermaster’s office. A Lt Waverly is on line.”

Ang winced at the CO’s rebuke. Yes, she should have gone there first… but wasn’t this more important? In his mind, apparently not. And he’s who counted. “Yes, Sir…” she nodded and headed back into the lift to go to Medical. She glanced at Spicer and winked with a nod. She had confidence enough in the man that he’d comm her if he had an issue. On the bridge, he had plenty of help as well.

She sighed as the door whished shut behind her and she headed for Medical.

AJ smiled as he noticed the wink from the Chief , he began staring at the console to give himself a better view of damages that needed to be repaired.

“If I start with the bridge that’s the main point to get up and running again then I’ll see where else I will be needed “, AJ had realised to late he was talking out loud hoping nobody would think him too strange.

Cadet AJ Spicer. Eng

The screen changed to a cluttered looking office. Behind the image of a craggy faced man with suspicious brown eyes matching his mousy brown hair combed back in waves were a series of filing cabinets with stacked data books and assorted things. =^= Waverly here. Ah, Endeavor =^= It looked like he may have made a quip but then fixed on Vahl’s pips and changed course. =^= Is there a problem with the cargo, Commander? =^= He looked down and looked to be flipping pages on a screen. =^= A sizeable cargo, but well within your abilities. =^=
- Waverly, Base QM.

=^=No major problem with the cargo, however, we recently had an onboard emergency, we’re still assessing the damage done so we’re looking at a delay in taking on the cargo,=^= Keena explained carefully, =^=We’re in the process of updating our status with command, as the emergency has just resolved. I should have an updated timeline on when we might be able to take on the cargo shortly once we’ve completed the assessment of our internal damage.=^=

~Keena Vahl~

Waverly raised a brow and emoted the idea that an emergency on their part was hardly an emergency on his part. He mulled that over for a moment =^= Very well. Your delivery site is well within the Federation space and it is but a delivery and assistance mission. The most exciting part of it, I suspect, would be those who remain on the ship affecting repairs. =^=
- Waverly, QM

=^=Understood, we will seek to ensure we can take on the cargo without disrupting the mission timeline too much,=^= Keena replied.

~Keena Vahl~

=^= Please keep us appraised. There apparently is a ‘weather window’ on the world in question to try to beat. You know where to reach me. =^= Waverly reached forward and evidently tapped something as the transmission ended.
- Wookiee for Waverly

“Chatty fellow,” Keena mused out loud after the transmission ended, “Cadet Spicer,” Keena turned to the engineering cadet, “Could you provide me with an approximate rundown of where our repairs are needed? I’ll need to assess whether we will be able to take on the cargo and complete the mission according to the timeline we need before I contact Waverly again.”

~Keena Vahl~

He would find the following lists submitted by engineering ..
- 318 minor relay or panel/station overloads that require replacements from chips to gel packs to station panels to repair
- 83 minor physical checks of plasma conduit lines that may have weakened in the blasts
- 12 physical checks and likely replacement of plasma conduit lines - listed as moderate in damage rating
- Warp engine diagnostic specifically related to the deuterium injection timings that were affected
- Shuttle bay is in a fine mess. It is sealed and can store materials, but it would need a major overhaul of work to bring it back into its glimmering state it had been.

Note that only the last three would be listed as problematic, with concentrated ‘fixes’ of the lines and warp engines that could be done in a day - two most. The rest could be done at any time.
- Wookiee

“Inform the Quartermaster that due to our damage, we will be delayed by two days at the most,” Keena ordered, “If that’s still acceptable to the mission perimeters, we can likely begin uploading cargo shortly. Have they sent us an updated cargo list yet? If not, request one please.”

~Keena Vahl~

The QM was not so pleased, though acknowledged that that was … prudent.

CPO Bobbi Keith reported in that most of the cargo had been uploaded already prior to the last … incident. Outstanding cargo that she reported in were:
- the two large shuttle sized craft awaiting onboarding into a bay
- approximately 3 dozen items which ranged from a series of hardcopy technical manuals up to a full sized office desk with a customized display built in
- Wookied

“Alright, let’s try and prioritize repairs that will facilitate onboarding of the rest of the cargo,” Keena ordered.

~Keena Vahl~

Bobbi Keith came on the line. =^= Ma’am, the Cargo Bay was full up, but we can work at that and squeeze a little more room out of it for the items that are left. Give us a shift to, ah, shift things around. =^= she replied.

NL Darlene Kohn, standing back at a security station. “Anything for us to do?” She asked, meaning security.
- Wookiee for various NE’s

=^=Sounds good, thanks,=^= Keena replied.

“Perhaps supervise the loading of the cargo and run the routine inspections of it,” Keena ordered, “Just because it’s coming from command doesn’t mean we can just toss protocol out the window.”

~Keena Vahl~

“I’m on it sir,” Darlene said, taking a last long pull from her coffee mug and departing the bridge. “I’ll check on any changes since our first loading of the goods. Never know if anything happens to just ‘go missing’. Like security ever sees ‘that’ happen.” She gave a roll of her eyes as she disappeared from the bridge.

Comms would come through. “Sir, I’m getting transmission confirmation to you that the departments are receiving orders relating to this mission. Nothing specific, but a general FYI so they aren’t being looked at as going behind your back.”
- Wookiee

“Send an acknowledgement and inform the department heads to check their orders from Command,” Keena ordered firmly.

~Keena Vahl~

“Aye sir,” the comms person said. After a check he said, “I have acknowledgement of receipts from all department heads that they have received a transmission from the Starbase.”
- Wookiee

“Alright, I’m going to check in with the CO,” Keena spoke, “NLt. French, you have the bridge, if anything else pertinent comes down, interrupt our meeting,” she ordered, stepping over to the ready room door and ringing the chime.
