“And when you look at or hold that piece of debris, what does it make you think and feel?” Liadra asked. While cliché for therapists to ask about feelings, in this case it was pertinent and useful information.

OOC: Thank you for your patience. It’s been a rough few weeks for me.

Lt. Cmdr. Liadra, CNS

OOC:
I understand. I hope things will soon look up for you

Rexar pushed his thumb across the fingers of his right hand. Brushing over their callus ends, he pondered the nature of the Denobulan’s inquiry. Shifting his eyes to glance into the palm of his hand he lowered his head to face his empty grasp.

“Pride. Confidence and pride.” He calmly stated as he gathered himself in the chair, restoring his deportment into a more orderly position.

“I believe the forces that it took to reduce the equipment into such a form would have been considerable. I would also be lead to believe that such forces were either immediate or impossible to avoid. Unfortunately, it’s unknown according to record but it seems reasonable considering.”

Liada watched him wit a measure of curiosity. Indeed, she could almost sense the strength in him that just the very thought of the artifact gave to him, and naturally, the people behind the thoughts. Such motivation was rarely a bad thing, unless it drove someone towards behaviour that was exceptionally risky or careless. She didn’t that that sense about him though. Clearly passionate about the things that mattered to him, Rexar was someone who was thoughtful and let that tendency guide his actions. Or so his record and demeanour showed so far.

Palming the armrests gently, Rexar leaned forward with the slightest of movements. Tipping his head onwards of the doctor he lifted his chin with a narrow gaze perched on his face.

“Whether they knew of this, or they knew nothing at all. My mothers didn’t hesitate to put themselves between something they knew was dangerous, and people they’d never met. They knew they would die, or at least suffer greatly and still they stood fast and held their ground until the evacuees could be rescued.”

Rexar resumed his display of composure spoke in a breathy drone.

“How could I feel anything else?”

CDT. Rexar Omtala (Engineer)

“Indeed,” Liadra said with a soft smile. “Such actions are the epitome of courage and I can understand why anyone would hold them in high regard, and so they should.” She paused, seeming to try to decide something.

“May I offer you a small bit of advice?”

Lt. Cmdr. Liadra, CNS
